I do not have an updated one yet. I will have one as soon as possible.

There has been an update to the Wildcat's schedule. Walton Verona will be playing Boone County 9/5. The Newport Wildcats will be traveling to Taylor County to take on the Cardinals. A big challenge for the wildcats! More details to come. More than likely Newport will travel down this year, but not everything is finalized.

I've had the pleasure to play in the game in '09, and to have coached in it since 2017. Although it is not a typical "all-star" game and it does give some players the chance to put the pads on one more time it is a lot of fun and a good time for all. I did have a player in my position group the one year from Cov Cath who was going on to the University of Dayton for football. Rolled his ankle and tried to go back in the game. I wouldn't let him. No reason to get hurt in that game when your about to go play college ball.

It can't get here quick enough!

I still remember when I was in high school how big of a game it was between Boone County and Ryle. We went to watch them my bye week of my junior year and it was insane. The rebels would go on to win in overtime. It was an amazing game.

That was a classic rivalry in the 200o's! Two very dominant programs back then. I would love to see Danville back to it's prior glory.

What are some of your favorite high school rivalries here in Kentucky? I'm an NKY guy so I am very fond of the Bellevue/Dayton rivalry. a few others that I like: - Newport/NCC -Cooper/Ryle -Ludlow/Bellevue -Ludlow/Dayton -Dixie/Cov Cath -Highlands/Cov Cath You can make an argument for how one sided a couple of these have been lately (Newport/NCC, Dixie/Cov Cath), but the rivalry is still there. I'd love to hear some of your all's!

He could be a pretty good slot receiver. Tremendous athlete.

According to the KHSAA site, the Berea High School head football coaching position is open.

That is correct.

Just saw on the KHSAA job posting site that there is a post for head football coach for Berea. That is exciting news for the school.

We had a coach on staff at Dayton who grew up in Ohio on that hill and said he could remember seeing O.W. Davis field from where he lived.

I remember playing at Davis field in high school as an away opponent. It was an awesome atmosphere to play at. Coaching there as an away opponent and as somebody who coached at Dayton, it was even better. It really embodied the Friday night feels. A really cool pace. I hate to see it go, but the new stadium will be a really cool upgrade!

I believe there is one in Newport in July called "Rumble on the River". Consist of Newport, Dayton, Ludlow, and Bellevue if I'm not mistaken.

Holmes dropped Newport from their schedule and Newport had to pick up Gallatin because a late notice even though the two had earlier agree to play each other.

They do return a lot on the o-line with two upcoming sophomores who got a lot of varsity time on the o-line in close games. They return a lot of players with the exception of Farrell who did transfer to Lloyd after the football season. Losing Kyle Lee at QB will be the biggest question mark for the wildcats, but whoever takes over will have a lot of weapons to work with.

Newport’s Sean Hurry DE will be class of ‘27. Had a great year as a sophomore and was voted all-NKY team. A recruit a lot of people are sleeping on.

He did coach one season with Coach Wiggins at Brossart. Great hire for Gallatin!
