That would be good strategy, especially given how much they like to slip Fraley into the post against a guard. PC usually has a good JV program. They'll need to have some younger guys step up, given what they've lost. Cook, Idlewine, and now Farmer will be big losses for them.

It will definitely hurt Pulaski but if Anderson is healthy he can be a capable post player for them.

Since we're talking all time you'd have Jeff Lamp and Jerry Eaves on that Ballard team as well. Lamp played 6 years in the NBA and was an All American at UVA. Eaves played for 4 years in the NBA.

That’s an interesting topic to discuss as well. if you went for the all time team it would probably be dominated by Louisville and Lexington teams with a challenge put up by teams from Bowling Green and Northern KY. Male could put Griffith and Winston Bennett on the floor, just off the top of my head.

In their prime, for sure. I thought the OP meant guys who could suit up today. Both of those guys are in their 50’s so that might be a factor. Maybe Clay County could pull Richie out of retirement……..

That's an interesting question. It would probably come down to what teams have produced the most college players in the last few years. You'd need a decent mix of size and shooting ability. I'm more familiar with the 12th region than the other regions in the state. I can't think of a 12th region team that has consistently played at the very top level in the state over the last few years. There have been some good teams and players but given your question I don't think they could compete.

I know he’s played some AAU but I’m not sure who with. The report I received was that he’d held his own against some good big men in a tournament in Tennessee but I didn’t get any details. His ankle was bothering him and he missed some summer games. It may have been a problem in AAU. It’s the same with offers. Some mid-majors are definitely interested but I don’t know if they have offered yet. I heard that he visited Wright State but I don’t know what the outcome was. He looked good in the Indiana/Ky Junior all star game. 10 pts and 4 rebounds in 15 minutes. 2/3 from three. He was wide open a couple of times and his teammates didn’t pass it which is typical of those games I’ve been out of touch with the people I know from there. I’ll see if I can get an update.

They had a student enroll named Ben Mikels who had been homeschooled. He previously played for LIGHT and will be a senior at DCA. He's in the 6-4 range (maybe 6-5) and solidly built. I was impressed with his game, he's a strong inside player with good footwork and patience. He won't be the defender that Lual Ayiei was but he'll be a lot bigger scoring threat. Jeremiah Stiefel, the homeschool student who enrolled in January is much improved. He doesn't even look like the same player. He's 6-4 and very athletic.

I agree with your assessment. I've seen all of those top 5 teams plus Southwestern (at least on video) and I think you're right. DCA's biggest problem this summer was taking care of the ball, they'll definitely have to tighten that up. Stiefel is way more comfortable this summer than he was during the season and Ben Mikel is a big addition for them. He'll not be the defensive presence that Lou was but he's a lot more of a scoring threat. Somerset's shooting was impressive. The competition for the Class A regional this year could be a lot of fun.

DCA beat Clay County and South Laurel (by 24) this past Tuesday.

There are supposed to be games at South Laurel today (June 17). Does anyone have a complete schedule?

I’m not saying that they shouldn’t be on the floor at the same time. It’s just that they have similar strengths. They are strong on the boards but neither of them is a particularly good outside shooter. Boyle will have to get their outside shooting from the other three players on the court. As of now, the only proven shooter coming back is Webb.

They graduated 57% of their scoring so they'll have to find some points from somewhere. Hager will help them but he and Driver pretty much play the same position.

We know Driver, Hager, and Webb can play. Who else looked good? They lost several seniors this past year.

Yes, that’s him. He’s a solid player. Good defender and rebounder. He actually may be a bit taller than that. He missed some games last season due to an injury. I’ve seen him play quite a bit over the last couple of seasons and he’s a good player.

Is Jaciyon Graves from Danville playing for Caverna this summer? I'd heard that he's going to transfer there. He's got good size and is a solid player.
