Jones is 1 of the 4 best coaches in the region Along with Pietrowski(corbin), Davis(south), and Brad(Bell). Jones will have to impose his will because he inherits a bit of talent at Clay but rumors have said he also inherits a bit of "mefirst" ball. He did a great job at Harlan co controlling it so expectations are he will figure it out at Clay. They are top 4 in region

Wagner will have his hands full, very little returning experience. Hopefully they give him a chance to build something. Can't keep kids here because the the AD and principal--my former school.

Yeah I didn't see/we didn't play Somerset or Mercer this summer so I can't speak to them, but We played Boyle twice this summer and No shade to the 2 freshmen you spoke of but they were either not playing or just didn't play well enough to make a impression and Bishop just doesn't seem to have the fire to play anymore(Have heard he is not playing-know he didn't in summer) Its anyones year in the 12th because DCA is the favorite on paper but they will not run away with anything. Will be one of the weaker regions in state, No dominant players to carry a team. You have a couple of good role players but ZERO dogs.

If his AAU history is any indication then he may not make it a season at SC, very good shooter with very limited defense. My money says you will see him in 25 at a smaller D1--thinking WKU. Good luck and patience for sure

I didn't see either of those 2 this summer although was speaking of Wayne from what I had heard about and saw last year.....but the region will be wide open this year. Has a couple of favorites but no dominant team.

I agree summer ball is very deceiving. I was just speaking to the overall level of talent that I witnessed(or in this case didn't witness). Meant no shade just that in my opinion its a 2 horse race for the 12th title based on what I saw.

I don't have a dog in this region but I can say from playing in summer ball some observations--some are talking about Lincoln, had one player and a bunch of youth--Bishop if he plays will not make a difference hasn't had much fire since he left Rock. Boyle has zero size and guards while quick where very out of control. Rock is a year away but has best size other than DCA. SW is middle of the pack. West Jess is shadow of what they normally field(we had a player drop 40 and all they could do was argue about who could stop him). Danville has zero chance. Mccreary zero chance. This was before transfers etc but based on Summer DCA wins the region by default, not picking on anyone but compared to recent years this will be a down year for the 12th. It will be DCA or Wayne.

Did Desales have some kids transfer in? I know what they lost from last year......No offense but Unless a couple of stars came in they will not touch Evangel nor be a top 5 in region.

Its comical anything to do with how the KHSAA applies and interprets their own rules. For instance, I'm from the 13th region, we had a player transfer from Knox Central to North Laurel--never moved no physical change of address other than a postal address change(didn't move). Now after the superteam has graduated that young man goes back to Knox and crickets from Khsaa. Also now a youngman has transferred from North Laurel to South under the same circumstances and the Khsaa has ruled him ineligible awaiting appeal(from what I've heard). Same region a kid transfers from Wburg to Corbin same circumstances and again crickets. Same with multiple kids....I would love to know how the rules change from day to day and kid to kid. Its not a level playing field for any kid within the state when it comes to the Khsaa.....just my opinion.

They are playing a South Laurel team with a couple of D1 prospects and a lot of younger inexperienced players, but are consistently among the better teams in the 13th. Whoever 6'7 Stone is will have work to do against Souths Big man, should be a good game for both teams to see what they need to work on.

Its a good concept they had, but most of their info and rankings are straight from the KHSAA website from last year. Several rankings were absolute head scratchers including a young lady from the 13th with multiple D1 rankings who was ranked 7th and another with offers and interest who wasn't ranked. The teams where ranked based on last years records--not who they lost or gained. But a noble effort nonetheless.
