Is he ready for Varsity play having only played Frosh ball? I find it hard to believe, if he's top in the country, Elder and the GCL would have missed that. Is the UK offer real? I've seen the camps he attends, plenty of kids are traveling around, but that doesn't translate to actual play in games. Reminds me of "showcase baseball players", they can showcase well, get offers, have the metrics and fizzle out in games. I got to think its Harney's spot to lose as he's shown out on a Varsity field before, especially in a tough spot. Great "problem" to have though!

Is Cash looking to play football or basketball in college? I’d assume football.

KHSAA roster lists him as 5'11 165 and per Cash's Twitter, that's correct.

I had just read he was. I have no personal contacts to him or his family. Hope that's the case as he's a very fun player to watch!

How does this coaching shake up effect Athens looking elsewere? Does he now stay or still look across the river?

The air horn blown by the Ryle dugout was the most unsportsmanship like thing I’ve seen in awhile. And they kept doing it. Over and over. Why in the world would the head ump not take that away? Does not seem legal at all. They all discussed it and the horn was allowed to continue to be blown during the wind up and pitch. I also was wondering how we get the same umps we’ve had all season. Agree on the strike 3, even the Ryle faithful, who were happy, seemed crazy surprised by that call.

Tough loss for the Colonels, hang your heads high boys after a great season! 31-5. District champs. Colonels came out hot hitting and Bradley Zekl was smooth and did his job. Thought he looked like he still had more in the tank. Charlie Dieruf took the tough loss, Raiders were hitting him up. Colonels lose a lot in pitching with 7 Seniors graduating. Zekl (Hanover) ends his season 10-0. Dieruf (Miami U) 1-2 and 5 Saves. Wagner 7-1 1 Save. Saturday will be a great game Dixie Vs Ryle.

No matter what did or didn't go down, Scott sure has left his mark on NKY basketball and the NKY community! And its a better region because of that. These will be big shoes to fill. I'd imagine a large search. Congrats and best of luck to the whole Ruthsatz family wherever they land next! I wonder if he'll step his toes in, looking to join the college basketball ranks? Seems like it could be good timing.

I’m hearing if Dixie beats Conner, the Championship will be moved to Saturday due to Dixie Graduation. Could be a game changer for either team in terms of pitchers and rest.

This was a crazy game! Almost like the Colonels we’re trying to lose. Reardon was 3 for 3, Yuskewich and McKinley each had 3RBIs. Wagner started a bit Rocky, Suwinski in relief and Dieruf with the 1,2,3 final inning. Highlands used DeSylva, Benke and Cam Bottom took the L. Great team come back win for the Colonels!

Has CCH announced any new hires on the coaching staff for Varsity or lower levels? I am also interested how Fredrick leaving will impact the team. If McGillis does in fact leave, I expect Cash Harney to really step up and lead the team with Bradshaw and Wermuth.

I was at this game and man, was it a doozy and completely unexpected. What a train wreck. Wagner started off strong and it was tied and and close...until it wasn't. Kudos to Beechwood for coming in hot and strong. Colonels looked tired (which presumably the 7 Seniors were, definately not an excuse, but full day and late night of Graduation activities on Monday) and defeated. They couldn't string together runs and left a crazy amount of guys on base. Can't win if you can't score! Wagner is now 7-1, 1 Save Zekl tops the state at 10-0 Dieruf 1-1 with 4 Saves Arasmith struggled early but still was able to get the job done. He is 4-3. Stiles came in and got the W, now is 2-2 Chase Flarhety will be the Beechies ace for regions I'd assume and is 7-0. He was the power last night with not one but 2 HRs, his first HR of the season. This tourney is going to be interesting!

#10 CCH has its 4th game in 4 days and falls to #2 Boyd Co. at home. Colonels were low on pitchers. Charlie Dieruf, Miami U commit, coming off an injury, took the loss throwing just 3innings and not pitching much this season at all. JK McKnight, Morehead, who has only pitched 9innings this year looked steady eddy, pitching 5 innings with 7 Ks, got the W. Great match up for both teams headed into the final stretch.

Great game tonight in Park Hills with District rivals! Eli Wagner with the win looked strong and steady, striking out 11, until the last inning when he was well over 100 pitches. Colonels bullpen cleaned it up with Dieruf receiving the Save. Arrasmith looked decent but recorded the loss and Holt coming in after 4. Sowder with 2 RBIs. Colonels roll on with a 26-2 record.

St. Henry defeated Ryle in a nice win tonight 2-1. Carson Shea on the mound with the W. Gave up 6 hits over 7 innings but his D backed him up. Brady Aubuchon with 2 RBIs Shea held Curry to 1 hit. Ashcroft with the L throwing just 2 innings. St. Henry faces Simon Kenton tomorrow and Ryle faces Campbell Co. this Friday at Great American Ballpark.

All games at the Boyd tourney have been canceled due to weather and field conditions.
