We got to fix these penalties. We have linemen that hold and the coaches have to fix this. Yes we get away with it sometimes and so do other teams but it has to change. No offense to Apollo and I know they had their fair share of holding penalties but if we played Bowling Green we would of lost that game. Got to clean up the penalities especially if we want to play in December.

I hope so Devils. I just don't know. Apollo is better then DC and we struggled at times with DC, but we put together a great half. My gut says we should be my stomach says we better come with our A game.

We had better athletes then Catholic. We may slightly have better athletes then Apollo. My question this week are we better up front then Apollo. I'm not sure but if we are it is not much. I really don't see our DL being DOMINIATE. I do see our LBs an issue for Apollo.

I was informed by our coach that if coaches don't turn in stats by a certain time they get fined. So when was the RPI supposed to be out?

I can promise you this game worries me because if Apollo bring their A game they will be in a position to win the game. If we don't play well then it's going to be a challenge.

This statement and we have to quit acting like winning city/county is the end all be all. I know we won't win it every now and then (10 years) but we gotta quit acting like "we won city and that's all that matters". NO we have to start focusing on the next level and that's state titles. Bowling Green is down and South Warren and other schools are out of 5-A. We have to start competing for titles and if we don't then we missed a HUGE window of an opportunity.

I agree. I'm Owensboro through and through, but John Edge and Jason Morris have beaten us the majority of those 18 wins. Before Edge I think it was like 7. Jason I think has a winning record vs. Owensboro right now. That's amazing. Again, that shouldn't happen but I think with this new hire we are heading in the right direction.

You are exactly right Devils. Although, we acted like we won a Super Bowl vs Catholic. We are better than that.

Apollo still worries me. Defensively they are not very good. They lost their LBs to graduation. I respect Apollo, I respect John a lot. They just don’t have the talent a Catholic or Owensboro has. I watched his teams at Catholic beat some of Owensboro teams they had no business beating and I’ve seen him beat North Hardin back when NH had a ton of D1 studs. The game against when they beat Henderson Co when they had two huge DL. I can’t remember their names. Again I respect John and I know he does a good job but they just don’t have it at Apollo. Even Gooch had some teams that struggled. Gooch only won a 2 playoff games at Apollo and another coach won 1 in like 2006. That was the last time Apollo won a playoff game. That’s hard to believe.

Owensboro crushed Graves last year like 42-7 and then Graves turns around and beats Madisonville 19-0.

I agree Mr Giggles. It should be interesting how they play against Graves this week.

I used my son's Hudl account and watched film. I watched the Apollo vs. Catholic game. We need to play well. If we come in this game and overlook Apollo we could lose. It's up to Demarcus and the staff to keep their focus.

@jester270 Do you think JT Edge should be their starting QB? I have watched him since he played with the Saints and the Falcons at the ODCYFL. He loves contact and will hit you. As you know I'm an Owensboro dad, and I can honestly say I don't have us beating Apollo by 30 like some. If we do I will be shocked, but pleased. I just don't think it's going to be that easy. Mine is a long the lines of 42-28.

Your last statement is the only thing that worries me and that’s the OL. I really think without Hampton we don’t beat Owensboro Catholic

I'm going with a different score Devils Fan. I really think they can score depending on how well Max Johnson plays,but if he doesn't do well they can always put JT Edge in. After his performance against Catholic I really don't see why he isn't their QB. I'm going with 42-28. My son says Evan was still hurting after the game and I really think we need to work T Green in the game more. If we lose Evan then it will be hard for us to move forward in the playoffs. I think it will be a great game. I wish this game was at Rash, well I wish all the games were at Rash LOL!!!!

Owensboro Catholic comes off a impressive win over Bardstown 59-30. Meade County has yet to win a game. Can they welcome the Aces and get a win? Who ya got?

The Owensboro Red Devils are off to a good start in the District getting a convincing win over the Graves County Eagles 49-14. The Apollo Eagles get a 1-0 start after beating the Muhlenberg Mustangs 34-21. Who ya got?

Is Bardstown run defense good? We had two really good LB's that could stop their run game.

5-A is unbelievably wide open. I mean anyone of the top 10 can get into the championship game. Obviously, there is a lot of football left here, but let's look at this list. Cooper, Pulaski, Scott Co. and Woodford Co. are definite favorites. I think Madisonville, Owensboro, Bowling Green, Atherton can win this thing as well as the top 4. 1. Cooper- 2. Pulaski County 3. Scott County 4. Woodford County 5. Madisonville-North Hopkins 6. Owensboro 7. Bowling Green 8. Atherton 9. Collins 10. South Laurel
