Been one the best Offenses in the state last 5 years.

All-State Offense lineman at Franklin County graduated in 09. Went to Centre and was a force as I believe was a 3 year starter. Went and was on the coaching staff at Boyle county for a few years after college before becoming the Offense Line coach at LCA around 2015-2016 where he coached and was a big help in developing a few D-1 linemen since including Walker Parks, and Jager Burton before they left for Fredrick Douglas. Has If I’m right been OC for LCA high flying offense since around 2019-2020 including those close State Championship loses. His offense has produced a few D-1 guys under his run. One the nicest people you’ll meet and true student of the game that comes from a great coaching tree. The kids at LCA already love him. Great hire from within.

Call it how I see it.

If you get to watch them. It comes down to coaching. Teams that actually slow it down zone it up and actually run plays they’ll struggle against. Outside Boone with Jointer out nobody is a true basketball player just athletes. Have one other shooter than Boone. Coach Brown doesn’t even run plays or make Boone a focal point in the offense it’s just basically like watching a pickup or a aau game with Woodford.

Man most of Woodford whole roster in basketball last few years still lives in Lexington and a few key guys in football too. GRC went to state championship back to back years with 3 key players from Lexington too. It’s not talked about enough but a lot of talent in Lexington has been leaving going to the smaller counties.

Living in the Lexington area the transfer situation is so ugly more then people can image. Douglas/Carter G has affected a lot of schools we grew up and saw as powerhouse. But another main reason you see a lot of sports or talent all-round down in Lexington is the surrounding counties year after year are getting kids to come way more then what we was used to growing up. Used to be Lexington schools would get guys from the surrounding counties now it’s the complete opposite.

Makes sense. Definitely trying see who else may follow there from any schools. Just hate see guys leave when they have been winning and big contributors at any level of sports.

Dang was not expecting this at all would’ve thought likes of Male, Manual or Ballard. Wonder who else will be at Atherton next year.

Sloppy game you can tell 10 days definitely has them rusty.

Tonight Bryan Station will take on Fredrick Douglas and look to bounce back from a rough loss in the Championship game of the Lexington Catholic tournament few weeks ago. Stations Amari Owens had 43, while Douglas had 4 guys in double figures. Rumblings around Lexington is FD will get the return of their super athlete Avion Chenault. In round 2 of 3 this season who does everyone like tonight?

From my understanding he was. But man it was hard to watch with pieces with hella varsity experience it was ugly.

Like to see if Trinity can finally get things rolling again things was looking rough at Lexington Catholic few weeks ago

If it is Miller would like see that Jet offense he ran at Western Hills over the years with the athletes that are at Station. Could be fun to see.

Just learned something new. Appreciate that. I've scene it so much living around this area in public school it’s crazy.

Curious why would it be tough? Just asking because never known of it to happen but a lot of kids especially here around Lexington area are jumping to different public schools each year even to the small county schools after playing a year or 2 of varsity while still living in Lexington. KHSAA been letting it slide heavy the last 4-5 years. Looking fwd to seeing his and Hobbs do next 2 years kids are very special.

This will be something to watch for sure. A lot of those Louisville Chargers teammates they won championships with play for Trinity and been huge parts to Trinity back to back championships.

Coach James and his staff do a great job of having guys prepared for when starters go down. Flyers live with next man up mentality and a WE system. Still look for them to be a threat come playoffs just because how well prepared they are. Major factor is Franklin County having the same QB for first time in a while.

Where will he be going? Is JaHyde Brown going with him know them 2 are basically like brothers.

From what I heard last week at Catholic tourney may have torn his MCL but nobody could confirm it.

Depending on Jointer situation WC is in trouble.

Until Jointer gets back WC will continue to struggle to have someone other than Boone run what little offense they run. Can’t just out athlete everyone. Coaching matters.

Coaching goes a long way.

Owens has make his teammates better. Definitely felt like FD was in control all game and was a bigger win than 8. FD was smart mixing in different types of zones. Most impressive about this win is FD didn’t get into a track meet with station slowing the game down and valuing possessions. Station got most of their points second half by mucking the game up wasn’t any execution to the offense. Score doesn’t tell the story of the game.

Number 5 for Green County was killing. Coaching goes a long way too. Box and 1 on Melo Boone to take him out early. Faced guarded him full court whole game.

Great hire for Henry Clay right coach to lock in home grown guys. ALOT of talent right there on Richmond Rd that seems to find its way to Winchester Rd.
