I don't think there is a scenario where Lloyd wins that game last night, but they certainly didn't do themselves any favors.

Was worried about getting behind early, but putting the ball on the ground as much as the Juggs did won't help anything. Curious to see how far they drop in the rankings. Really does seem like it's the top 3 and then a huge drop off.

Trying to watch in-between work. Any idea why Collins-Comer hasn't been in running the ball for Lloyd?

Bully them? I don't think so. Do well enough to win? I think it's possible

That's one scenario I'm worried about. Unless Evans is cleared for this week, which I would doubt, I don't know if Lloyd has what it takes to play the come back game through the air.

Question for the ones thinking LexCath in a route. Coming from a place of admitted ignorance on the 3A class. Do you feel that the top 2-3 of 3A are that much better than the rest, or do you feel Lloyd at #5 is a fraud?

As much as I'll be pulling for the Juggs, I just don't like that fact that their first test is this big of a test. My heart says Lloyd close, my head says LexCath close. It may come down to how well Sebastian can throw the ball as I don't think Evans will be back for a few more weeks. That said, Lloyd hasn't had a need to test Sebastian's arm because his legs are that good but I feel like LexCath will be ready for it.

That is odd. I checked it before even commenting previously and Lloyd was at .8600 and in 14th.

I'm fairly certain that RPI trumps all. I don't believe a victory over LexCath would improve their standing over a likely 3rd round opponent other than Rockcastle County if even them. They will probably be the 8th best RPI remaining in 3A come round 3.

I don't expect a round 2 stinker, but I'm extremely cautious over the 3rd round. With the RPI they could end up at Belfry, Bell County or LexCath in round 3. And because we don't know much about this team yet, I wouldn't be shocked with a convincing loss to any of those 3. We will find out a lot more next week.

Juggs had a running clock early in the 2nd. I believe 50-6 was the final.

That Lloyd/LexCath should tell us a whole lot more about Lloyd than the other 9 games combined

Potentially dumb question here. Do playoff games get factored in to RPI for later rounds?

Heard the refs had to ice their shoulders after this one. Very sloppy game penalty wise on both sides. Lloyd has been taking a quarter or two to warm up the last few games. That won't be a good idea when LexCath comes to town. Hopefully they get those wrinkles figured out

As for this game, until last week I thought Newport may be able to keep it close in the first half and potentially avoiding a running clock in the second . After the game with Ludlow, I don't know if they will score enough points to hold that running clock back.

I do not know the time frame but I can tell you he is not back yet though. That said, the same thing happened last year in week one and Sebastian stepped up and led them to a semifinals appearance against Beechwood.

I'm sure NewCath is a better team now than the one I watched against Lloyd. However, there is no way they have gotten good enough to beat Raceland.

#1 may not important for Beechwood, idk of the same can be said for the others. If OCath, Mayfield or LCA would probably prefer number one since being second of those three would mean playing the third in the regionals and then playing the first in the semis.

Looking in to it more it becomes obvious that the last column is the one in order. But what are the other columns?

I know we have a long way to go, but which one of the numbers in the grid is the important number?

I don't like to compare scores, but Walton losing like they did against NewCath makes me think Lloyd rolls again.

I was discussing this after Holmes scored late against the JV, but Boone had a 90+ yard pass in the first quarter. Just one big play mishap against the first string.

I am happy for 1A with this result. Happy, and a little surprised. This makes the playoffs more interesting.

Maybe it is the long bus ride, maybe it's Bethlehem being better than we were expecting. Sounds like a good defensive game though. Something I believe Lloyd needed.
