I have seen this at a few schools. I know Russell County still does this, and I have seen Casey County do it in the past, but not recently. In both stadiums, the fans are really close to the sidelines, and I believe the coaches don't like the distraction for their players.

I have been fortunate enough to watch the teams I have really wanted to see in Kentucky, but I haven't always got to see these teams at home, and that's what I'm gonna list here. Belfry Johnson Central Mayfield Ashland (I've heard a lot about Putnam) Beechwood

I don't know much about what Cov. Cath. this coming season, but I sure am excited to hear Michael Mayer's name called in the NFL draft! He's an awesome TE and I think he will have a successful NFL career.

What do they have returning?

More than Danville or Somerset? ?

No Taylor County or Green County, but adding Somerset and Danville are nice additions to the schedule. What exactly have you heard, if you don’t mind me asking? That he’s a front runner or that he has applied?

I would hope someone will share some old photos of schools that no longer exist. Like M.C. Napier, Evarts, MMI, and any others that folks may have.

Thank you guys, but I’m aware of that fact. I was just curious how different schools handled the search and hiring process. How much input did others have on the recommendations given, and who those folks are that are giving the recommendations? Does the elite schools do it different than the lower level schools?

I'm curious how your school handles hiring a new head coach. Does your school have a search committee? Do they have a hiring committee? If so, who is the committee members (alumni, previous coaches, principals, etc.)? Is it left to the principal and site-base committee? Do you post the position and then whoever applies, applies, or do you reach out to coaches you hope would apply? I have my thoughts on the matter, but I wanted to hear from programs around the state how it's done at your school. Thanks for your answers in advance.

Applicants will be narrowed down this week and they will have those folks in the building for a walk thru this coming week. Interviews will then been done on 1/30 & 1/31. Hire will be announced on 2/1. I still have not been told who all the applicants are.

I believe Coach Cross is running weightlifting as of now.

They didn't give an exact timelime. I'm hoping interviews start no later than next week.

I was told today by administration they had a lot of interest in the position and several applications. They did not give any names though.

I was told yesterday that it would be posted for 15 days. So, I would guess a hire would be made by mid to end of January.

This! This right here is why Stonebraker is such a big loss to Casey County.

I don’t know if he’s interested in being a head coach. He definitely has the experience, probably more than most, but he lives two counties away from Casey and his school age daughter is active in different things. What he does now is a big time commitment, I just don’t know if he would want more, but he would definitely be more than qualified for the position.

All I will say is, it has been rumored that a starting QB from another school, but lives in Adair will transfer to Adair. The person who told me said that the player’s father made that statement.

It's a lateral move at best. He is originally from Bowling Green and played at Warren Central. Casey County can't be compared to any job in Boyle County or Pulaski County school systems, but they have very good booster, alumni, community, and business support. Definitely better than days gone by. @Carl Spackleris correct. Casey has only appeared in 1 regional championship game, but I can't see where Adair has appeared in any. Stonebraker will have to change the cultural at Adair like he did at Casey County. If the QB transfers in, and with Stonebraker's son, that will be a dangerous combination.

This is my hope. A former college teammate of his, Brian Cross is the DC at Casey.

Coach Stonebraker met with his players this morning and announced he was taking the Adair County job.

Who is Levi Rogers and where does/has he coached?
