Madisonville-North Hopkins 28 Hopkinsville 21

Hoptown had to play without their best defensive player SR ILB #30 Grubbs for off field reasons I heard. Was only a matter of time before Madisonville rushing attack started to take advantage. Back and forth game that went down to the last possession. -

Class 4A has some great matchups this week in round 2. Hopkinsville played terrible in round 1 and barely escaped Calloway. I look for a much more inspired effort from the Tigers this week. Madisonville has had their number the past few years. Are both teams healthy? That may be the key to this week.

Hopkinsville 28 Calloway County 20

Calloway gave the Tigers all they wanted. Numerous mistakes by the Tigers allowed the Lakers to hang in there and absolutely battle. Hoptown out gained Calloway 409 Total yards to 164 for the Lakers. Tigers will have to play much better than that next week or they will get ran off the field. -
You are incorrect my friend. The only round that is Seeded by East/West is the 3rd round. After round 3, all teams are put in the same draw and there is no geographical preference as to where a team will go.

That was one heck of a ball game. Both defenses played outstanding. -
Could you imagine the uproar if they only allowed 1 team to get out of the districts in other sports?

I’d go with Breathitt County myself. Just because like ATL stated, no one truly knows how good they really are.

Unless they begin to have neutral site state semi final games. That brings an entirely different argument up.

I was looking at a Belfry vs PT state semi-final DragonFire.. Talk about travel..

I agree with GCHS. Tilghman has pretty much secured a 3rd round home playoff game barring some miracle. If they are breaking in a new QB, this is a good game to gauge what he can & cannot do. Tilghman will run through the first two playoff rounds with ease. I’m sure they need and want to see what they have this week to prepare them for their round 3 opponent. They are in a great position to tinker with some things.

I know this topic has been beaten like a dead horse, but I do like the RPI introduction. In saying that, it definitely needs some tweaking to say the least. I think the perfect playoff structure would be to keep playing your opposite district for the first 2 rounds (1-2,3-4,5-6,7-8) and then do like KHSAA has done and implement the RPI factor to seed rounds 3 & 4. Teams that have tough districts are penalized by this current format & in some cases you have a top 10 team in the class going home in round 1. Thoughts from everyone on this?
