  1. I think Dale Mueller is the reason for the fall off. Football families would move in to FT. Thomas especially families that rented just to have there kids play for Dale. You knew you would be one of the top teams in the state every year. You would also get a top education. It was a win/win for football families. All that changed with his retirement. I mentioned in the other thread that almost all the seniors on the Jumbotron went to FT. Thomas Elementary schools. So that tells you that the big transfer players are not coming to Highlands.
  2. It if funny that people said that the FTJFL isn't down because it was brought to my attention at the game friday watching the jumbotron that when they was announcing the seniors that almost all of them went to FT. Elementary school. So maybe that is the issue they aren't getting the stud out of district players anymore.
  3. I think it is a lack of kids playing football. I believe they only have enough players for 2 teams in 7th and 8th grade where in the past they had more. I was told that they use to have 4 teams in every division.
  4. Definitely the talent. There JV and Freshman teams use to beat teams by 30+. They would play with the Ohio powers. Now it seems the lineman are smaller so they don't get the push on offense or defense. The last guy I seen get pancake blocks every play was Bo hebel and Robinson got push in the back field every play. In a time when kids are bigger it seems that Highlands players are getting smaller.
  5. LaSalle is really good if CCH is within 20 points I will be surprised.
  6. It seems to me that you don't like this particular player who gave the speech for some reason.
  7. I disagree the whole idea of a true team is trust amongst each other. Leaders don't wait to be told that they need to lead. They lead every day at practice and on the field. I have seen 12-13 year olds give speeches at a youth halftime games to fire there team up. Then go out there and win the game. The coaches stepped back for a min and let the leader go to work.
  8. I don't think there is anything wrong with the coaches stepping out of the locker room and letting the leader/leaders have there say with the team. If they are a true family then they will listen. That just might be what they need.
  9. Wow I just left the game and it is more a statement about picking on 1 player. Conner burnt Highlands #25 on every pass to his side. It didn't matter what receiver was on him. Highlands didn't get a first down in 2nd half til 845 in 4th. This may be the fewest offensive product ever from a Highlands team. I think they need to go back to putting all the good players on offense. Conner has 2 really good players their quarterback and #4 controlled the offense for Conner. Congrats to Conner and their Coaching staff on a big win.
  10. I don't know anything about scheduling. I hope you go to the meeting and get some answers to help improve the league.
  11. Yes I am definitely saying that isn't why they made 3 divisions. But I will give you that maybe the Spartans are trying to avoid you. I ask questions about some of the stuff we are talking about that is why I had some answers. I don't know how they were able to avoid your game because that isn't fair to your players. Me personally I liked 2 divisions better than 3 but I do understand the problem with the smaller teams not having enough players. Hopefully at there meeting you can get some answers.
  12. That isn't why they created 3 divisions. They created 3 divisions because some teams are so small that they can't field midget youth and Junior youth so they put them teams together. Then they put the teams that are on the boarder of Fielding teams together. All your bigger programs they put in the upper. Almost all of them can field all ages. I think the Reddevils fell short this year. That allows the games to be played at one place most of the time.
  13. Ok I have never heard of teams running from other teams. You win some you lose some. It is about the kids getting to play. Is there not another team on a bye this week that you could play. If you have a youth team Midget/Jr. It is harder to find a team not on a bye because there isn't as many teams in that age group.
  14. Yes competition does play a huge role in stats. There are always some really good players in the Louisville area that would have eye popping numbers if they were in a different part of the state. Thanks for the info on Trinity.
  15. They schedule changes weekly because some teams can't fill every age group. Other teams try to but have to cancel. It isn't the way it use to be when you had 2 ages together. They do every age now so that causes for a lot of changes every week.
  16. I am shocked that Trinity doesn't have someone on the watch list. I don't know their team but with the competition they are beating they have to have some top players.
  17. I agree but I think to tough of a schedule hurts more than it helps. You always have players playing hurt and not at 100%.
  18. I think #3 for NCC has about 3 TD's a game. He splits out as a receiver also. Definitely one of the best in the state.
  19. I totally disagree it does make a difference if you go both ways in Highschool. I watched Dale Mueller send guys deep every play to tire out the corners or safety's that went both ways on the other team. It all depends on how good your offensive coordinator is. Dale was one of the best.
  20. I believe the score was 10-6 at the end of 3rd quarter.
  21. When your defense is on the field the whole game you don't have a chance.
  22. Was told that the Highlands 8th grade team that NCC beat just beat Union Raiders. Can anyone confirm this?
