  1. I hope it's an injury free game for both teams. I don't have any inside information, lost my spy guy to someone in a higher place. I miss him.
  2. Derby favorite Forte has been scratched this morning after workout.
  3. I'm tired of beating these dead horses. No pun intended. I guess the news stations got it wrong. I hope you have good luck on your derby picks. I'm done.
  4. Obviously you don't know me. I would be the last person on earth to complain about about horse racing. I still hate what they did to River downs.
  5. Your kidding, right? 😊 Just odd that this should happen two days before the derby. How do you know that these two horses weren't in bad shape? They don't uthanize healthy horses. I've been around the track a few times over the last fifty years. I don't know if you can tell me something about horse racing that I don't already know. If you do that's great, good for you.
  6. I think I read where two of the horses died while they were doing their daily training. The other two were in such bad shape that they had to be uthanized.
  7. Four horses have died at Churchill downs over the last five days.
  8. I'd like to see a show of hands of the other programs that are willing to do this. Any takers? I'll wait. ☺️
  9. Ok, I'll ease up and give the OC a break. D gets my game ball. Giving up only 29 points after all the turnovers by HHS. Being down 14 points in the first qtr.
  10. I'm just talking about the last HHS drive vs SC.
  11. I have known what you stated since day one. The OC is in his early twenties, with no previous experience that I know of. Highlands has plenty of coaches, perhaps one of the other coaches could assist the young inexperienced OC. Obviously he can't handle the job by himself. Could be other job openings at the school that he is better suited for, and it doesn't have to be on the varsity football program. I will leave it there. Congrats to SC for the hard fought win.
  12. The difference in the game was turnovers. HHS had a punt blocked, two picks, a fumble and a lot of short fields for SC .Birds were down 14 in the first qtr. Down 14 the Birds fought like pit bulls to get back in it. The Birds were one drive short at winning the game. Play calling on the last drive was terrible to say the least. I just want to tell the Birds that I'm proud of them, they kept fighting until the end. Might want to find a better OC before next season.
  13. Physical? Birds will go toe to toe with anybody. Birds played tough with CCH, neither team held anything back. . One thing that impresses about THIS Birds team is they don't miss tackles in the open field. Gang tackling at the line of scrimmage has been constant. Should be a great game.
  14. Agreed!!! It's very hard to be a kicker for the Birds. High powered O doesn't get many FG chances. He is great. While we are on this subject, I would like to give a shout out to #75 a starting D tackle in on the kickoff team for the Birds. How often do you see that? Double teamed all night long still making the QB scramble. CCH didn't have an answer for #75 last week. These two players are great. Glad they are Birds.
  15. Did anyone notice who was playing DB/SAFETY for the Birds in the forth qtr? It was Noon . Been years that the star O player was put in on D . Great win for the Birds.
  16. Highlands 2009 team, hands down. 2009: USA Today Super 25. 2009-3RD in the nation. This is the year that HHS beat a Cincinnati X team that was ranked in the top 5 in the nation. Some names of players on the HHS team; Abner, Bardo, Collinsworth, Roller, Towles, Buten, Gold, Schlosser(SP?) Sorry I didn't have the full roster, maybe some one can post it. Sweeper Boy posted the full schedule and results a long time ago. (This is also the year that Cincy X crushed Trinity and KY St. X)
  17. There isn't a picture of this play posted. The call by the ref was targeting. The ref got it right. The HHS guy was the tight end number 85?
  18. Highlands had one dropped pass in the end zone, other than that, it was a great night for the receivers. Still too many penalties. The targeting call on Dixie was a helmet to helmet crushing blow to the HHS receivers head. Hope he is ok, I was glad to see him get up and walk off the field.
  19. I saw that. No updates, I would say it hasn't started yet.
