Just curious... why would Klette leave Scott for Campbell? Scott's an annual contender in the 37th and in the 10th Region with her at the helm. Unless there is some unspoken unrest at Scott, why make a somewhat lateral move?

Ahhh ok, yes that makes sense. Scary news... Madison Lawson from Dixie may have torn an ACL this week. They're getting a second opinion. Would definitely affect Dixie's start to next season.

Any potential replacements here? Or is that too soon to consider?

I would love to see Dixie challenge... but I'm not sure you have your facts straight. Dixie did not beat Ryle during the reg season. And they lost by like 17 in the regionals after getting down like 13-2 to start the game. Scherr will be the best player in the region and it won't be even close. I get the issues with depth. But who's to say they won't get someone transfer in with talent. Between Scherr, Crittenden and Douthit... Ryle has the best big three, probably in the state.

Depth for GRC should make them the favorite. As long as everyone is finally healthy.

Dirty Dave is spot on. At some point, the Coach has done everything he can do and the kids have to execute. And I know their Reg Season hasn't been sparkling the whole year... but Dixie isn't some podunk team. They're extremely well balanced, well coached, and full of upperclassmen. Sure, player for player, they were an underdog vs Connor. But I've seen all the top teams in the 9th several times. Going into the Regionals I would put Dixie as the 4th overall seed and Connor probably 2nd. Are people stunned when 4 seeds beat 2 seeds in March Madness?

Nah don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to dog Dixie at all. I thought the gameplan and the player efforts were absolutely fantastic. You don't beat a top 5 team without a great performance. I'm just saying, Connor didn't look themselves. Maybe that was all Dixie's doing. It just didn't look like Connor came with their best.

Dixie was in the driver's seat from the first play when Sydney Lockard drove left and finished off the glass. I believe Connor only led once all night (27-26). I have no information on this... but it looked like Connor might be battling sicknesses?

Hurst is a phenomenal player. 1st team All-9th Region for a reason. But for the first 3.5 quarters Connor looked like they didn't know how to score without the ball in her hands. They looked lethargic and a bit lost defensively. It made me wonder if the flu might be running through Connor?

Just following your train of thought, would you have it like this... 1) Ryle v. 8) Ludlow 2) Connor v. 7) Dixie 3) Highlands v. 6) HC 4) NDA vs 5) NewCath Seems like Dixie especially is the most poorly placed if it were by seeding (and I get that its not).

Dixie definitely got the toughest draw in regionals but also got the easiest path in their district. Ryle has the easiest draw in regionals but the toughest win in their district. I could be wrong, but I don't see this being a boiler-plate Ryle vs Connor as expected. I think Ryle makes it. But Connor has a steep climb. No matter what, this seems like Ryle's Region to lose.

When 100% healthy, seems like Scott and GRC would the frontrunners. But both have their weaknesses. If teams want to beat Scott, they've gotta turn them into a jump shooting team. If the Lady Eagles can get in the paint or out in transition, watch out.

Scott took the blueprint that a few D3 school used with success vs Calvary... Zone them in the half-court, force shots over the top, collapse on Rusch and make his life difficult. Then get out in transition and attack the smaller Cougars in the paint. Calvary struggled to hit contested shots. A great year for the small school out of Taylor Mill. 20 wins and a Kentucky Christian Athletic Conference chip. The Eagles/Camels matchup will be a fun one.
