  1. You only pull and sit a player averaging over 40 for the last 210 seconds of a game that was a 39 point blowout? Coach Belcher seems like a good guy, but that's not cool, imo. Quit chasing records and points.
  2. After hearing some info here I think my approach is going to be to buy a new aged cheaper one and grind/buff it a bit smoother (I think I'd like that a little better than the rough ones). In the meantime I will be looking for some older ones. I've checked out some videos after reading some of the things you all have posted and I think I'd really enjoy taking an old rusty skillet that has been around and seen a lot of history over the years and bring it to life. Seems like it'd be a worthwhile project to restore them as gifts for close family members here and there too. I am thinking of going with a big one when I buy (14"-15"). My thought being I can always cook smaller amounts of things in them, but cannot make one bigger if I need more skillet space. Quick question, I have a gas range so not worried about it, can cast iron be used on the smooth electric ranges?
  3. Twitter has been a pretty comical place to be since the Realmuto and Barnhart talk started. I always love the fans that hang onto a solid year or two and think they know more about the situation than the guys paid the big bucks to do it (even though sometimes we might). Bottom line, Realmuto is one of the best in the game. Barnhart is a great defensive catcher, but Realmuto would be an all around improvement. The one gripe we've all had with this team is the lack of attempts at improvement. If you want to be a contender you look and listen to all possibilities of improving your team, even if you have a gold glove fan favorite at a position already. If you can pull Realmuto to Cincy without breaking the prospect bank and then spin Barnhart to LA (who needs a catcher badly) for Puig and Wood, you absolutely do it! Wood is an upgrade in the rotation and adding Puig to play in the small CF at GABP is an upgrade as well. Realmuto and Puig added to this lineup is great too. Yes the Reds were good offensively, but two more solid bats provide that much more protection for Suarez and Votto, things a lot of fans never think about. It also allows Winker to go back to what he is most comfortable with which is being a high batting average and below average power hitter. The other thing I love about all the talk is Realmuto is only controlled 2 more years, and Puig and Wood are only through this year. Why do I love that? It means the Reds would be going after right now. No more farting around talking about potential and next year, not to mention I think you have a real chance of locking up Realmuto and Puig longterm. Puig will love hitting at GABP and Realmuto could see the win now mentality in Cincy and the trust in building a revamped pitching staff around him.
  4. What are some of your favorite things to cook on them?
  5. Now that we've moved from the grilling and smoking season to the cold winter months, I am looking at investing in my first cast iron skillet. What are some recommendations you have? Obviously when shopping them you can spend from 20 bucks up to about as much as you want? Is there much difference in them besides price? What's some of the best things you make in your cast iron skillet? What's the best way to season it? Clean it? I have many questions and will be going into this a novice when it comes to cooking on cast iron, so please give me any info you have!
  6. Man, I hope not. How awful would that be? Always want to see someone be able to walk away on their own terms.
  7. 56 fouls being called is ridiculous. Great job by Bishop Brossart to continue what has started out as a very good year!
  8. He would be better than anyone else they can hire? With his no coaching experience and the fact that he and Rodgers did not get along great while he was in Green Bay as a player?
  9. I really liked the comments Urban made about the timing of releasing this before the Rose Bowl rather than after. His comments about not wanting to mislead recruits that he had grown to care for while recruiting them was a side of him I don't think enough of us see. He absolutely was looking out for what is best for the university and more importantly, the kid that he is moving away from mom and dad for the first time.
  10. Jon Morosi ‏ Verified account @jonmorosi 3h3 hours ago More #Reds are open to an intrastate blockbuster trade with #Indians for Corey Kluber or Trevor Bauer, sources say, although there hasn’t been recent progress on a deal. Reds want a top pitcher and aren’t a favorite for No. 1 free agent Patrick Corbin. @MLBNetwork @MLB
  11. I agree with this 100%, but I meant the fix. He is what they want out of football. He has to be the poster child for what (we believe) causes CTE in football players.
  12. I have been an OSU fan all of my life. Even have a newborn photo of myself wrapped in an OSU blanket. I say all this to point out that some of it isn't Meyer bashing at all, but just the way it all looked from the outside given the precedent set before. He left Florida because of what the stresses were doing to him, and then was able to coach in a year. He really seemed (I've never had this issue so I cant speak for certain) to play it up for the media this year. From an outsider's perspective I can absolutely see how it could have simply been the ticket out, and to the next job 12 months from now. I also bring this up to echo a couple different posts you made. Even if the headaches and dropping on the sidelines was all played up as his ticket out, and I knew that going in, I still appreciate what he brought tOSU. He never lost The Game, and the 3 game run for the National Championship was one of the most incredible things I've ever watched. The fact that some "fans" laugh off B1G Championships and Rose Bowl appearances also cracks me up. I agree on it being an ultra classy move, and although some will bash hiding behind it when he was asked about this directly, I understand why he would not want it out before a conf. championship game
  13. Everyone in the NFL needs to be after linemen playing at the Wisconsin's etc. Places with a more traditional offense. They get these big guys that they think should pan out because they haven't given up any sacks in 4 years, etc, but the offense they were in is high tempo and doesn't require holding a block. If you watch the difference one linemen actually drive or mirror blocks and the other is just momentarily in the way.
  14. I would agree. Have no doubt having a cyst on the brain is miserable, but at times the "brain pains" seemed too made for TV. I can picture him at the Boucher dining room table in The Waterboy.
  15. Yep, even before the headache chatter started, it was obvious he looked extremely disengaged. Just a completely different Meyer than you had ever seen on the sidelines. It's possible this look was related to not getting too amped up because of the headaches, but it was still evident.
  16. I agree with this disgust. Unfortunately timing and video has a lot to do with these things. Look at Mixon with the Bengals. As a Bengals fan, I love when they do well, but I simply cannot root for the man. His incident had video, but the timing was in college which somehow translates to him having a chance in the NFL. Foster being picked up by the Redskins, timing is not in his favor, but the lack of video is.
  17. Have to think this is UC's game to lose, but if the Norse can get hot from 3 who knows.
  18. Some will see that name as convenient.
