Highlands 3-0 over Dixie. Both teams played their JV the last 20mins.

With tryouts over and Soccerama a couple of weeks away, who are the teams to watch this season? Will it be Highlands and NDA in the 9th Region final again this year or will we have a new comer? Who will be top in the 10th? Highlands would probably be the favorite based of returning players but NDA has a good mix of young talent and upper class man who are talented and experienced. St Henry and Dixie will definitely be in the mix as well. Highlands returns 10 seniors, 4 of which are playing their 4th year of Varsity. The Price twins are heading to Milligan, Broering to Ball St and Deckert to Louisville. Should be one of the more talented senior classes in the State. Hoping for a great and injury free season for all teams this season!

I called this in the beginning of this thread. Had a feeling this would be Coach Brannen’s opportunity and think he deserves this shot. Although I am not a UC fan, I which him much success.

You could be right. He was honored with being named both 1st Team All State in football and basketball. Pretty rare accomplishment.

How is Reid Jolly not on this roster? Not saying 100% he should be but wondering why.

PJ is tired. Herro is afraid to shoot and when he does he is shorting them.

Auburn has managed to not get a 5th foul on their two bigs that are sitting with 4.

Dunbar should have a technical after that display. I understand the magnitude of the game but he lost his composure.

With the amount of boo’s I am hearing when fouls are called against Auburn, I am guessing some UNC fans kept their tickets and are there supporting the Tigers.

I feel like I am in the movie Ground Hog Day with this thread. If they score 85 today or 50 today and win, I don’t care. Go Cats!!

Didn’t think there was a foul on the last layup attempt by UCF but I believe that should have been a charge on Zion. The refs overall in this tourney have been awful. No idea what a block or a charge is anymore.

The Norse are playing scared except for Sharpe. Open 3’s and not taking the shots. Won’t go into the paint because they are afraid of being blocked.

Refs are awful so far in this game.

Just a thought here but does Alabama come calling on Coach Brannen. With his ties there and his success at NKU I would think it could be a possibility.

23 gets him in the body. It’s a blocking foul. He couldn’t get any lift with 23 bodying him.

They should be ashamed. No way there wasn’t a foul on that last shot by Jolly. The other calls in this game were bad for both teams but that last play was ridiculous.

This storm looks as though it has picked up speed. Might be hard to squeeze 10-13 out of this. I wish it would but we shall see.

Is this a Ryle/Cooper thread? I didn’t know a third team was involved in this match up. Pretty sure a Camel wasn’t involved. If so many of you have a problem with Coach Menfee and what you see as poor sportsmanship, why not start another thread about it. I for one would recommend reaching out to him directly to discuss your issues with his coaching style. I am sure he would welcome your insight.

Congrats to St.X on the State Title. Now for the team that won our hearts as a community and a soccer fan, the Highlands Bluebirds. So proud of you boys. You guys made all of us so proud. From your enthusiasm on the field to you team unity, it was awesome to watch. To the seniors, I will miss you guys on the field next year and wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors. To the underclassmen, regroup and get back to the State Final next year.

Bethlehem has a great team, Highlands showed some good defense to shut them out. First time they have been shutout all season. Very good players with high skill level and I can see why they have one of the most potent offenses in the State. So proud of my Birds. On to the State Final to meet Sacred Heart for the third time this season. Go Birds!

Well stated MyOpin. I think it was just a misunderstanding and the craziness of the game and post game that lead to both teams not being in the prayer circle.
