Great crowd tonight at Beechwood. Birds got back to business after the loss to St.Henry. Nice to see Draud play for the first time. He didn’t have the best game but he is really talented and hope to see him again in the Regional tourney. Off night for Vinson as well but Ahlfeld turned in a heck of a performance tonight. Rest of the Birds stepped up tonight. Time for post season. Need to win the District to get a good draw for Region. 9th tourney is going to be one of the better ones in the State.

Not a very good game for my Birds overall. Too many turnovers. Hopefully they get back on track against a tough Beechwood team.

If that’s what you want to call it so be it. He puts on a show but he is not the only one. With the exception of Conner and CovCath (on another level), the team has multiple options to go to. Delagrange has a motor and plays bigger than his height but he is built to bang. Hunter and Muller were hitting the 3 last night as well. This team has a lot of options. If they can put a complete game together, shooting the 3 consistently, then they should make a deep run in the region.

He had to have at least 5 blocks as well. I hope he keeps attacking the rim come post season time. He could not be stopped last night. I was hoping to see #23 from Lloyd play but didn’t play much for some reason. The put back dunk off the missed shot in the 2nd half was something special.

Notre Dame Academy vs. Ryle Predictions/Updates

I think him and the coach for Butler can fight it out for slowest brand of high school basketball. -

I fixed my mistype of saying 9th region. My apologies. -

Growing real tired of hearing people down effort and accomplishments of young high school athletes. Calling the Camels win a fluke is disgraceful. I don’t even understand why you would even comment if that is what is being said. I also guess those “boys” beat those “men”. I think people need to remember that just because the Camels lost a lot from last years team doesn’t mean they cannot win the 10th. They are the defending champions. -

That’s seems like a pretty cheap comment. Don’t know what Vinson’s stats were today but he has more than proven himself. Take that talk elsewhere, these are high school athletes that we are talking about. -

No way teams can be scared? Sure they can. If a team is getting into the paint and is getting blocked or not getting clean looks, you are going to stop going into the paint. You are going to settle for mid-range jump shots and 3’s. I agree their defense is forcing them out but teams on all levels will start settling for outside shots if the inside game is not there. -

Teams in NKY seem to be afraid to drive inside on them. Lose that fear and the game may be tighter for them. I agree, which team will decide to do that? Guess we will find out in a few weeks. -

I was watching the broadcast and thought, wow that was intentional. Just don’t understand what the need for it was when your up by 25pts. Hunter is a big guy, you have to hit that kid with some force to push him like that. Would be great to see these two teams in a Regional Final. -

A flop??? I will just leave it at that. Congrats to CovCath on the win. The announcers need to take there blinders off. -

I don’t seem to remember anyone making excuses for why Highlands lost so I am not sure what all these barbs are about. NCC came back from 15 down and outplayed Highlands. Surely will see a rematch in the Districts and it will be another great game. -

I am having a hard time figuring out where this thread has went to. In a game between Highlands vs NewCath it’s hard to believe that either team would only attempt 3 foul shots. That would raise an eyebrow. -

For some reason it didn’t seem that Highlands wanted to dribble through the full court press that NCC came out with in the 2nd half. That caused multiple turnovers, throwing the ball away. There were many times that it looked like they could have split the defenders. NCC has a lot of size so wasn’t sure why we going all the way to the rim every time instead of trying some pull up jumpers. -

You are correct. Played every minute. It showed a little on a couple of the free throws he missed. -

That put back dunk was nasty. This team is playing with a ton of confidence right now and the are going 4 deep on their bench and getting good minutes from those guys. -

Very impressed with the defense from both of these teams. Really surprised that neither team went to the basket as much as I thought they would have. Seemed to be able to draw fouls in the paint but didn’t look for it enough. -

What makes you so certain that he could not play for UC or Xavier? Or are you saying he couldn’t play for them if he graduated now? -

I love how this Highlands team responded after losing Brass for the season. He was a leader and did the little things. Love how Barth stepped in last night and has come up big in several games this season. This team can flat score. Reason they are the 2nd highest scoring team in the state. Will be interesting to see them play against a team with a legit center that can rebound though.
