Anxious to see VOR’s rankings this week. He has kept Paintsville solidly in the 4 spot for most of the season. Paintsville beat the top 3 teams in the east in 1A head to head. KCD slipped past a Frankfort team who is maybe a top 10 team and maybe not...

Expect a big turn out for this much anticipated matchup! Glad these 2 teams dialed this game up in the regular season, exciting for the fans! Should be a great night to be on the rail at Memorial Field!

Would be hard to find a kid who does more for their team on both sides of the ball in 2017 than Tyrese Allen. Definitely a player worth watching if you havent, stats do not show the impact he has on a game from the DL!

I don't know how you wouldnt consider Lifson a WR? KCD runs the spread? Lifson is a MAN, he is big and physical, he looks like a college player out there now! Im not sure stats are the best way to quantify a quality receiver, teams are so diverse in terms of offensive scheme. Im not sure you can compare a WR in a pass heavy offense with tons of catches/yards but fewer TDs to a kid who catches more TDs in a run heavy scheme. In the east Bryson Parks is a great player for Hazard (19 catches, 321yds, 3 TDs)and should be in this conversation, he could be the best WR in the east along with Darrell White (53 catches, 656yds, 11 TDs)from WBurg. Also a big fan of the Allen bros from Paintsville James Allen(14 catches, 274yds, 3TDs) Chris Allen (9 catches, 142yds, 2TDs). Definitely some talent in 1A!

In the event of an injury, I could see this perspective. In football with a week to prepare btwn games and with the post season implications, I see this game being a war regardless! Raceland does a great job preparing for Paintsville. I also expect the 2 teams to meet twice. I think Raceland is better than Hazard after the injuries they sustained. I would guess after the way 2016 ended that Paintsville has awaited the Hazard matchup since last Nov. It is almost that point in season where it becomes win or go home, cant see either team letting their guard down from here on out! Btw if you take 2 pass plays out of the Hurricane game to #8 Dakota Williams, Paintsville is undefeated at this point.

VOR you gonna have to get you a hudl account, all those calculations and numbers are clouding your vision. Injuries/substitutions all have a direct affect on those numbers, a lot more can be seen watching a team online or in person. I am not the only one that disagrees with you guys, see the AP Poll. I think Paintsville got more first place votes this week than BW? Not saying I agree that they deserve that ranking, but outside of this site, it appears a lot disagree with Paintsville being a 4 here. That was my original point... Lots of teams get better throughout the season, I believe Raceland and Paintsville have improved as much as anyone. Paintsville did score a late TD on Pikeville with 1:54 left, that was after about an 8 minute 11 play drive that consumed the 4th qtr clock, both teams had 1s in. Pikeville has changed Qs and that helped, they had almost 300 yds of offense vs Hazard. Rumors circulating that their original Q is back and healthy, how will this affect things? Will be interesting to see how they continue to grow. Class A in the East should be fun to watch the rest of the way! Hard to beat a football team twice!

Yes WYMT is streaming. Paintsville has participated in the National Guard game the past few seasons, they give a post game trophy to winning team and a O/D MVP, both teams wear Guard jerseys. BlueGrassSportsNation does interviews and pictures on social media.

I think Paintsville's D is one of, if not the best in Class A. Hard to beat a team if you cannot score! Fview did not have a 1st down Friday night in the 1st half. The final scores make it appear closer in most games, but Chirico pulls his guys early, those late TDs affect mathematical calculations.

Does Fleming County not factor in the SOS? They will more than likely be 9-1 and district champs when Paintsvile travels to Fleming. Hurricane beats Somerset, thats an opinion. Wburg is a lot better than a winless LCHS team, also an opinion. Harlan Co is 3-4 with their only quality win ovr Ashland. Paintsville held Pikeville lifeless vs Hazard giving up 26 points to Pikeville, you guys said those a wash also, that is where scores become misleading. I wish Pikeville had posted stats for those games, would tell the full story! Every team on Paintsville's schedule would beat Phelps(Fview weakest on PHS schedule and they did beat Phelps) and LCC, so I guess we have to agree to disagree VOR. As you said, it all shakes out in the coming weeks thankfully! This is a discussion board, just offering an opinion.

Im curious, looking at CalPreps strength of schedule, how does Hazard's SOS out rank Paintsville? Pikeville and Hazard have similar SOS according to CalPreps, no way that is accurate! Pikeville has played the 2nd most difficult class A schedule behind Beechwood, not even close! In all polls aside from 1A/3A, the top 5 rankings very closely resemble calpreps rankings. Adjustments based on some criteria were made to those 2 polls. Just curious Ram, did you make the short trip to Westwood to watch Paintsville, what were your thoughts? Not trying to make anyone mad, just stating my opinion in a discussion, I think class A rankings here need shook up.

Worth noting that in Dave Cantralls mathematical calculation Beechwood rates at a 76.6, Paintsville a 71.9, KCD all the way down at 7th after Friday with a 54.2. AP has Paintsville 1, BW 2 and has for several weeks. No way KCD deserves this ranking after a 5 point win over a 3-4 team who barely beat Paris. I think most on this site would absolutely agree that the top 4 needs shaken up and has for 2-3 weeks. I guess in the big picture rankings are for discussion only as they mean nothing. Personally I think its 1)Beechwood 2)Hazard 3)Paintsville and 4)Raceland, for once I agree with Dave Cantrall's top 4

Yep you are correct, glanced at the wrong maxpreps scoreboard. Point was/is Hurricane is a solid team. Spring Valley has some D1 players, they crushed 4A Ashland, Hurricane beat them 41-21

Pikeville only has 9 games, this is all they could find! I have heard they will travel down on Thursday night.

Beechwood has 2 losses against great competition... Paintsville has 1 loss against a very good Hurricane team. Hurricane has beaten GW, South Charleston and Spring Valley. They played within 2 TDs of Huntington first game of season, Huntington has been ranked in top 3 in WV all season. Comparing scores it would be hard to say LCA is better than Paintsville, so I cannot see any justification for KCD being ranked above Paintsville. The Somerset scores make me question how large that gap between west/east actually is? Based on Raceland and Hazard's(Losing 34 during game affects outcome) performance vs Somerset I am not sure if there is a gap at all? Raceland is solid as always and appear to be hitting their stride! Reading the posts on the BW/SK thread it appears that BW is not a well oiled machine at this point. Hazard has yet to find their stride after the injury to the RB. Pikeville looked much improved last week. Lots of questions to be answered in the next 2-3 weeks. Really anxious to see what Ludlow/KCD can put together down the stretch? My opinion, pretty obvious based on the AP poll that these rankings need shook up based on the top 10's actual body of work.

Go check out Tyrese Allen's highlight. No doubt Tyrese is a different style player, but he has thrown a 40 yard pass, Allen averages 9 yards a carry on the season, he is also a DL which is where WVU recruited him at 6'4" 290. Jaylyn, Tyrese's younger brother is very highly ranked nationally also and he is only a sophomore. No disrespect to Blackburn, sounds like he is a heck of a player, I have not gotten to watch him play, would love to see Ludlow take a fight to the Beechies. Please post Blackburn's hudl? Would love to see him play!

Dakota Williams - Hurricane High School Tyrese Allen from Paintsville has been everything a WVU commit should be this season. He is a man amongst boys!

Paintsville is ranked a little low in my opinion. Should know a lot more about the whole picture after Pikeville/Hazard meet Friday night. How good is Ludlow? Should find out a lot about the Class A picture in the coming few weeks.
