Why are they the best?

1A GOTW Quarterbacks both playing well!

 

Hazard - Bailey Blair 74/123 920 yds 6 TDs 4INTs - Rushing 58 atts 343 yds 9 TDs

 

Paintsville - Jake Hyden(freshman) 35/71 685 yds 8 TDs 1 INT - Rushing 21 atts 119 yds 1 TD

What's your thoughts on who the best Quarterback is in Class 1A?

Depends on your criteria. If it's strictly who is the best passer then idk who it is. If it's which qb is the best in the state at doing the most for its team via run or pass. Then it's Justin Blackburn and it's not even close imo.

Justin Blackburn is 9th in the state is passing yards, and 7th in passing tds. To go along with over 1300 yards rushing from the qb spot with 22 rushing tds. He has over 2000 total yards offense and 32 tds in just 6 ggames before this last game.

 

So unless this thread is about only the passing of qbs. Then imo it's not even close on who the best qb in the state in 1A is. It's Justin Blackburn. Basically the college version of Tim Tebow, but in 1A football.

Got to think in terms of what QB contributes most to his team's performance. Blackburn has my vote by a wide margin. Great runner that has to play QB. Throws like you would expect a HB, but is such a running threat that Ludlow often has wideouts with a lot of separation.

Thanks 7UP! Great tool to have access to. Rates passing only and leaves out the contribution from rushing. Might be evidence the RG3s, Terry Bridgewaters, Cam Newtons, Jamiel Winstons, Russell Wilsons, Marcus Mariottas of the NFL are flirting with danger and statistically undervalued while still able to play.
