  1. I see no issues with tailgating or drinking a few before the game. Now, AT the game is a different story.
  2. I've heard the Shearer story as well, from multiple sources. They moved the kid from QB, so he went down the road and is going to get a D1 scholly....as a QB
  3. I don't think I trash talked anyone there, but I apologize if it came off that way. I meant no disrespect to anyone.
  4. To the one running back comment: We have one running back that is a true varsity quality RB - Schwalbach. The rest aren't varsity quality. Wilson hasn't done anything in the games that he's been in, and neither sophomore is ready at all (evidenced by the ball control issues and size). There are at least 3 WR that played RB previously that need to be taking reps at RB AND WR for situations like this.
  5. I'll be honest......I think I may actually have it. Going to the doctor later today.
  6. When you google it, Dale Mueller is listed as the AD. "ATHLETICS For questions regarding our Athletic Department, please contact Dale Mueller, Athletic Director."
  7. The one where they tackle no one. Actually, it started off as a 3-5 but last week they changed it to more of a 5-2 with two high safety players running cover 2 and cover 4. That's what I saw.
  8. Were you at the game last year? SK thumped us and pulled a garbage move and made sure to score another (with Shear) with almost no time left, up by at least 3 scores I believe.
  9. I thought they were running more of a 5-2 set last week, but maybe I was blinded by the fact that we couldn't tackle #4 all night long...
  10. Yeah it's BW running the D this year. Personally, I think it's scheme and LOS, combined with sup par physical play and poor tackling. Unless it's Beast Mode, no high school kid should be averaging 5+ YAC
  11. HAHAHAHAHA! Seriously? They scored two TD's on our JV defense with under 3 minutes to go. The score didn't do the game justice at all...it was a flat out beat down. They had given up 9 points before the Varsity came out of the game, 2 of those due to a bad snap on a punt.
  12. As much as I hate to say it, HHS loses big...likely with a running clock before the end of the third quarter. Unless the offense can establish a decent run game and can hit some open receivers downfield and the defense can somehow figure out how to stop the run, this will be an ugly game for my Birds.
  13. No, it's not college. But thinking like this is why teams are soft and kids can't take any adversity.
  14. If you're not getting penetration from your lineman, you have to blitz to shake something up. It's pretty easy for 4-6 Olinemen to block 3 D linemen. We are too small upfront and get crushed in the running game to continue this.
  15. I would LOVE to see us move out of this 3-5 that we have been running. It gives the offense way too much ground upfront to start with. Personally, I don't think we blitz out of the current alignment enough either. Maybe a 4-4 or even a 5-3 would help?
  16. They 100% did it last year in football...there were much better underclassmen that didn't see the field because a senior had already put in his time. I still think it is happening in a few cases this year as well - but it isn't anything like last year IMO. I also heard that back in the summer when football started, the coaching staff said "At this time, the seniors have the spot." Now, I obviously don't know if that is true, but it is was I was told from someone on the team.
  17. Truthfully....if he gets hurt playing RB, it creates way more of an issue for our defense and special teams than it would benefit our offense. Also, I'm about 95% sure he will kick on Saturdays at a minimum in a few years.
  18. Definitely agree with that. He is very valuable as a kicker, and a better LB than RB. I'd love to see him in goal line or third and short situations - either as the carrier or a lead blocker.
  19. The kids playing varsity right now weren't beat down as Freshman or JV players. I know the current junior class last year lost two games - each by one score I believe and as freshman lost 3...again all tight games.
  20. Personally, I think Bowman, C. Schwalbach, Huddy, and Johnson should be playing both sides of the ball. Maybe not every play, but certainly more than 50%.
