I agree; that schedule is brutal. I saw that earlier last week and I can see how they have the losses that they do.

They play great team defense....it is the most underrated aspect of the team. Their help defense and rotations are off the charts. I thought they were well coached on the defensive end

After watching Mercer this weekend; they are a much better team than I initially thought. They are more than just Faulkner.

13-20 could probably go a number of ways. I've seen most of those teams and there are about 15 teams that could make an argument for those 8 spots. Kudos to you for putting the list together.

I don't think it was a charge at all. Potter was standing under the basket it appeared. But to your point I agree, especially the ones where the guy slides under a player already in the air. I'm sure numerous wrists have been broken or injured because of that play

When you get two fouls in the 1st qtr it can sometimes keep you from getting in a rhythm. MC was affected by the officiating all around. It wasn't just charges....it appeared that they weren't getting the whistle.....so much so that their coach addressed it and told them to play on. I say that but in no way am I trying to take anything away from WC, because they played very good. This could be the worst officiating year that I've seen statewide and there's no other way to put it....IMO

Faulkner was plagued with foul trouble. Potter played well... I don't think MC was pleased with the officiating

Early on everyone is excited about "proving people wrong" and motivated about a new season. Legs and more than anything else probably, mentally kids are refreshed. A lot of kids are logging a lot of minutes per game and the wear and tear physically and mentally is setting in. Also familiarity among teams takes the element of surprise from the game. I don't know if fewer games is the answer, maybe fewer minutes per game for some of the top performers on each team. This is what makes Scott County such a dangerous group down the stretch in my opinion.

Dawgs take care of business at home with a balanced scoring effort: Malik Wright 17...Alex Matthews 15...Jachai Walker 15....Mickey Pearson 14....and Aaron Scott 12....Witherspoon chips in with 9. To say that Scott County humbled the Bulldogs would be an understatement. You hear it a lot around the team. They've played well at home all season. Witherspoon back gives them some things that you just can't coach or put on a stat sheet. He needs to shed about 5 or 6 pounds looks like before he gets back into shape, but he will make them difficult to beat in the region. They play Butler Saturday in a game that won't mean much around this time of year; but this team needs to see where they really stand against top state competition before tournaments start to kick in gear.

Down the stretch you will find that exactly these types of players are what makes a TEAM good. You guys are lucky to have Big Willie Style patrolling the paint. Get well soon big fella.

I've watched Andrew Taylor play a lot of games. This might be the first time I've seen him take so many shots. He seemed a bit pressed, almost like he was trying to do a little too much. I know his stat line is gonna look good with the points but I don't recall seeing him try so hard to score. Is this how Corbin typically plays. Also the Rice kid hardly even got in the game.

I know you probably couldn't tell by Saturdays performance but I do think John Hardin is one of the top 20 teams in the state. Scott County is solid and they shot lights out that day. Mercer played very well all around. I was told one of the guards that played Saturday didn t play in the first meeting. They are good defensively....and as a team they shot it well. Honestly I feel Trevon won Mr. Basketball before the season even started. He would have had to lose it by playing poorly or making a poor decision, which his character doesn't suggest he would do either of the two. His numbers are good and his team is good, but no disrespect because I love the kid, but most of Kentucky anointed Trevon Mr. Basketball a long time ago.

Mickey Pearson leads the Dogs with 28. Malik Wright chips in 23. Pearson tops the 1000 rebound mark. He is the only member in school history in the 2000 points and 1000 rebound club. The Bulldogs welcomed back Anthony Witherspoon from a long suspension. Spot action but scored 7 huge points off the bench in about 5 mins of action. Big test today as the state's number 1 team rolls into Lafayette.

Is all this date stuff just so the tourney can line up to be held at Rupp Arena
