  1. I dunno. Do all these kids drive? Might be a great gesture by the school to say will do our part by helping you get there. I expect SK to have a good showing of support just wish the central office would make an effort
  2. The Brock girl is tremendous. I read some trying to hype a matchup with her but she is simply at a different level than anyone else on the floor tonight. She was absolutely worth the price of admission. GRC took total advantage of their size and simply overwhelmed Harlan. GRC has Mercer next and will have their hands full. I think this time it will be in GRC's favor to have a lower scoring game as Mercer flat out lit it up from the outside tonight
  3. I expected this one to be closer. Butler making an early statement. Didn't see it but I'm assuming Butler's experience showed out Heard they brought nearly the entire school!!! That's awesome
  4. Very cool! I'm guessing the school had nothing to do with that? Apparently they refuse to do anything on their own accord. Do they not pay their light bill? Is their a reason they don't have any lights on with all those people on site? Holy smoke has it come to the point we cannot even turn the lights on? They should probably cut them down for scrap so the principle or superintendent can get another raise The more I hear and see the Kenton county school system is going down the wrong path if this is the way they handle things
  5. I do not know a single player on either team. If you go back earlier in the year you will find plenty of compliments from me for the Mason County girls. I'm a fan of theirs. When I watched this tape, no matter what speed. It's simply a walk. Period. I, like others have stated, know this correct call is not what cost them the game. If either of the referees didn't make this call, I would be on the other side defending the GRC faithful complaining how their kids were ripped off. The outcome of the correct call resulted in allowing the players decide who moves forward. This was put in the players and coaches hands by the officials doing their job
  6. I was told they charged $5 for each student plus ticket. Not hard to do the same for the state tournament is it? Why try to make a profit off your students. I'm sure the $150'collected paid for the gas and bus driver salary. But let's be real, are they really that petty?
  7. That is my point. Some are arguing that it was not a walk yet saying they only saw two full steps. That's a walk no matter how bad you don't want it to be Great and gutsy call by the official
  8. Posted by Jim Schue: Student tix + bus ride for Nelson Co. kids for Wednesday's game for $11. It's been since 1990 for that school, so I anticipate they'll have a big crowd. The NC boys have never been to the Sweet 16.
  9. Posted by passtheball: Sacred Heart bringing up students on buses for $15 including ticket and excused absence. I think they will have big numbers for the noon game on Wednesday.
  10. Holmes High School: We are proud to announce the Holmes Lady bulldog basketball team won the 9th Region championship again this year and will be heading to the State Tournament this week. Last year they participated in a send off tour to all the elementary schools and loved seeing the students in our district supporting them. We would like to repeat this sendoff this year and let the girls know that we are all cheering for them. The bus will visit each elementary school..... students are asked to lineup outside with signs and banners and the players will visit with the students briefly before moving on to each school. The visit will last approximately 10 minutes.
  11. I hope each school can post what their respective schools are doing for their players and team. I was just told SK is doing Nothing for their girls team. No pep bus No pep rally No missing even a minute of school No send off (short video played in the morning congratulating them) Seriously!!! Lets see. Pep bus shows tremendous gratitude and appreciation. Not to mention it saves the students parking fee's, ensures a solid fan base and just simply means a lot to school spirit. Nope!!! not Kenton County If they were out of town what in the world would they do about school? Miss the tournament? How about giving them a little break and help them pursue a life long dream? The students can't enjoy the moment with the team? School and community spirit? Naaaa. I guess this school board and administration just simply don't have any. Sour grapes?? Not really. I don't have a kid on the team but I remember the pep rallies, community support, school support and all that came with such trips and I find it terribly sad this school has made a very poor decision.
  12. I'm hearing SK doing nothing for their players or students. No pep bus. No pep rally No congrats to the girls or recognition other than an in school video thank you ! What a school. This may be the most pathetic show of support I have ever heard of Kenton county should be completely embarrassed. What leadership this school system has. It's time for a change if they can't do better than this
  13. Not challenging your opinion, but if they win the state they will have certainly earned it
  14. Tremendous accomplishment for their program and should pay dividends down the road. Love seeing the kids in communities like that have success for their schools
  15. If SK plays together they are tough. If it's about 'me' they will be spectating. These games are determined by defense. The coaches have multiple options and can go 9 or 10 deep and really match about any lineup.
  16. Butler should be considered the favorite. Either team capable of winning but if the winner believes this is for it all then they will have a serious trap game in final 4 if Mercer cnty make it thru. The finals wouldn't be a cake walk either
  17. 100% the correct call. Great win for GRC. Tough out for Mason co. I am impressed the official made the correct call and I applaud him for doing so and letting the players decide on the floor.
  18. Grant will have the most preassure on them as they will have to play their best game of the season to win. SK just needs to be at the top of their games and they have a much larger margin of error. So they should be able to play loose and get after it. I would like to see SK basketball IQ tonight with their shot selection. I want to their game last night and they did a terrific job of moving the ball around and hustling. I thought Anderson forced that out of them as they are a very good ball team. I'm not sure grant will force that out of them tonight so it's important that SK play crisp and keep building momentum
  19. This entire cc / Scott thing needs to move on. Forget what the players did, the video I watched showed very poor alignment for scotts defense during the last possession. I out that on he coaches. 7 sec's left having to go 3/4 court you tell your offensive player to drive to the hole. They are not going to foul you so get to the rim, if they do stop you, kick it right or left because one of them will be wide open. Scott's players ere initially set up poorly and allowed the drive and the kick passes if the cc player needed to make that pass. Terrible defensive alignment so they have no one to blame but themselves
  20. The girl from Trimble is a very nice ball player. Congrats on such a successful high school career and congrats to Trimble for a great season Congrats to grant for such a great game plan and exploiting Trimble weaknesses. Most importantly, their girls executed that plan. Big win for that program.
