Polar Bears win in Owingsville. Austin Crawford came out halfway through the second quarter with a busted lip. (Now 126 away from 3,000). Bracken County had a 25 point lead in the 4th but the reserves let it to 14 against the Bath County starters scoring till the buzzer. This is the best I've seen Bracken County play since Campbell County, and I've been to every game. A lot of assists and better defense then past games. Austin Crawford cane back with 28 points after a rough 3 game stretch. Brady Jones also with another impressive night of 18 points. I take credit for coaching him that, must've got tired of it. How was the student support during football?

Admission for students last night was $2. The rules at Bracken have changed from anywhere to: seniors free, free with student ID, free if your sport is in season, honor roll, now we are to where if you have met benchmark on the ACT you get in free.

Have a student led pep section, organize a group of 10 or so kids to pick themes and stuff. It is sad that with that good of a basketball team that will always be a Region contender and none of the students seem to realize it. Trust me I know from experience that sometimes it is hard to get students at games. Even when they get in free. Bracken County will typically have around 20-30 students at regular season games and for big ones more. I hate seeing kids think they are "too cool" to support their team. I really don't know why they don't have pep sections every game with the 1000 kids they have. One reason I think Bracken has done better than Campbell in this because as you know, there's not much to do in Brooksville than go to a basketball game. But at Campbell there's tons of stuff to do in NKY. Just speaking from my experience.

First time I've seen Bracken struggle with defense this bad all year. Russell just got so many open looks. Just wasn't the same defensive intensity that was in the Boyd Co game.

One starter (Tanner Fisher) is out with a broken wrist. Other starter (Brady Jones) played through illness after throwing up twice before the game. Bullitt East just played really well, other than turnovers I thought Bracken played well and defended well. Bullitt came in shooting 36% from 3 and Luke Ezell came in shooting 26%.

I know we've had this conversation multiple times and my stance will not change. Sure the Augusta/Bracken game meant something, but only bragging rights. But imagine how much more that game would've meant if it was seeded.

It was great to see the Augusta faithful sitting front and center and then say the refs handed Bracken the game. I think Augusta was more upset than Campbell at Bracken's win. I think they forgot Bracken/Augusta don't play anymore. Did the refs put 6 players on the court for Campbell? The two intentionals were deserved and Aric Russell was asking for it. And the refs didn't make the free throws for Bracken at the end either.
