  1. Boyle County is well, Boyle County. That being said, Mercer did some good things that they can build on. They did score on Boyle County’s defense, so that ends that streak for the Rebels. Mercer also made some nice defensive plays and did get going on offense in the second half, only to be turned away at the goal line. Boyle County is a very impressive team, in all aspects. Both teams come out healthy, for the most part, which is always a good thing, especially in a lopsided game like this. Best of luck to the Rebels going forward, and keep on fighting to improve Titans!
  2. Sounds like that would indeed be pretty impressive. Trouble is, I know nothing about Belfry or Ohio powers, so I should have included an “in my limited knowledge” somewhere within my post.
  3. Anderson County can put themselves right back in the top ten, with a win against Franklin County. A game I think they’ll win.
  4. I would have thought a win over the 4A #8 team, would have bumped Mercer up a few spots. Rival, on the road, an opponent you had dropped 8 of 9 to, and a Bearcat team that went unblemished through the regular season last year, should support that argument. I’m assuming everyone above, held serve and not everyone was as impressed as I was, with the defense the Titans played Friday night? I know it’s really not important in the grand scheme of things, but a discussion point, from my prospective.
  5. Drakeford was a game changer at safety last Friday night, in Lawrenceburg. Tremendous athlete.
  6. I voted Mercer, but that’s just a loyalty issue, mostly. I do however think Mercer’s defense will be a good test for the Rebels and I’m looking forward to this game, for a change.
  7. Coach made a very gutsy call to go for 2 after that 4th quarter touchdown. It seemed like an automatic call after Anderson jumped offsides and the penalty was enforced. The personnel change was instant, as if everyone knew that’s what was going to happen. I thought he was maybe going to kick it out of the timeout, but kudos on what turned out to be the call of the game
  8. Running game for both teams was a struggle to get going. Anderson has some grown men playing OL, and are very good at Lb. Mercer’s strengths are pretty much their entire defense, but that secondary played especially good tonight. 2 interceptions, forced fumble and at least three or four impressive pass breakups. #22, #28 will get most of the carries for Mercer, with Anderson relying on #32, and Labheart for their run game. I credit Anderson’s rough night passing to Mercer’s secondary. Mercer needs to find some consistency in the passing game, if they are to continue to have success. Some miscues were on the receivers, but by no means all of them. I saw a lot of fight in both teams. Neither would give in. Both will win a lot of games this year. Mercer will very likely take a break from winning next week, but I don’t think we will see 59 from the Rebels as we did tonight. Titans defense is the real deal!
  9. I agree we didn’t learn a lot, but both these teams really get after it on defense! Both teams have weapons, but the defense played tonight was what impressed me the most!
  10. 3 and out for AC, Titans with it 2nd down, and an unsportsmanlike penalty is probably about to back them up
  11. Neither offense can get going. AC scored on a punt return, early in the 1st. Mercer scores after being gifted a short field due to a botched punt reception. Defense is on full display
  12. Great start to the season for the Bearcats! Any stats available?
  13. I thought the halftime score was 6-3. If so, I’m assuming the final should read 21-3
