  1. That's the problem, Christianity accepts that the written word of the Bible can be interpreted, however there is no interpretation of the Qur'an, it is recited and memorized (Brainwashed in Madrasas) chapter and verse, and acted upon word for word literally .
  2. Can't be certain who this guy supports. I can sit in the cheer section of the opposite team. Then bad mouth refs and players to get a T called on not my team. Can't tell if he was a plant. I have never heard or read anything to make me believe Trump supports this kind of thing.
  3. Gene Snyder, elected Representative Ky.1967, that is a name I know. Different world, different time. Politicians actually worked across the aisle. And got bills passed.
  4. Dirty Harry James Bond Back to the Future Indiana Jones Star Wars ( Original Three )
  5. You are one busy work oriented lady. That commute is a days work. I salute your dedication. I guess I just realized how blessed I've been to co-own a business close to my home and have a second job a half mile from home while our sons were in college. Admittedly, I'm retired and love to sew, do alterations on wedding dresses or hem a gentleman's pants for a funeral visitation. Did not mean to sound judgmental, do you know how many times I have had sore fingers from removing those staples? :irked: Sorry guys did not mean to get so off topic.:sorry:
  6. Who said anything about bayonets and I neither watch or listen to Rush Limbaugh and have never watched a "Road Warrior" movie.. Stop insulting people just because you have a different opinion. I thought this was supposed to be a discussion. Personally I am very relieved you don't like guns, from some of your could be considered agitated posts.
  7. We also live in a rural area, what was once farmland is sparse with homes. I'm not happy about the proximity to close shooting, we once took a bullet through our siding because people are not always as good or safe a hunter that they think they are. Some do not realize how far these deer rifles can shoot. But my point was to not approach someone who is armed.
  8. You just proved our point, that we don't want to and shouldn't give up anything. And calling me names proves nothing. You know nothing about me, PARANOID? I don't even own a gun. But someone trained to use them safely and confidently is their American right, whether you like it or not.
  9. Is your statement about where in the U.S. or the areas of the world in general? If it is the first, they know Americans have always tried to keep the bullies, be they religious or not, from imposing their will. So they're success will always have to go through the U.S. France was not armed to the teeth and France asked for our help after that cowardly act.
  10. See comment 311. That is not the first or last decision SCOTUS got wrong IMO. That is a whole other thread.
  11. There's no need to say you're sorry, I know I'm not delusional just realistic. Look I hate guns, grew up with five brothers who could all shoot, only learned to shoot at my Dad's insistence, since I was at times alone on our farm in the country. But you missed my point. When the citizenry is no longer armed, how can you be sure a non-democracy leader will not put himself in power along with the law and military of their choice? The Hitler affect? A armed person is a citizen, an unarmed one a subject.
  12. You would be better served to call the law. It doesn't seem to be a wise decision to approach someone who is armed and try to tell him what to do. Telling us on here what you want done, when you are safe behind your keyword, is much safer. If you choose to assert yourself, anonymously, this is definitely a better choice.
  13. I realize sewing and repairs for clothing malfunctions is becoming passé, but wouldn't a few well placed stitches be quicker, a better and lasting repair? A look a lot more professional? Many minutes wasted just patching the problem than doing it right to begin with? Since you already have everything else in your carryall, a sewing kit takes little space and to include guys, in a desk drawer.
  14. One things for sure, if or when the really bad guys come to take over, the soft targets will be the first to go. That pretty much puts you and the other guns banned crowd first in line. Do you really believe you're safer if the only people with weapons are the ones who are in high places, their military and their law enforcement? A quote from my Dad that he read somewhere when these discussions started to gain momentum in the '80's, " An armed person is a citizen, an unarmed person is a subject."
  15. Hope you are better each day, the third day out you usually feel some improvement with pain. Sending my prayers for your speedy recovery. Worst part is over. Your incisions look good, not too much swelling. I know you're glad for that. Glad to hear you're doing well.
  16. Wonder if he will call it a " Vast Left Wing Conspiracy "?
  17. Most of the people who even bother to read the political threads already have a vested interest in one side or the other, so they have already taken a stand. I've always voted because I had a very patriotic Grandmother but it wasn't as serious for me until the national debt starting closing in on GDP numbers and also this terrorist dilemma. So possibly my Grandmother's strong feelings came from losing a brother in WWI and living through the depression. I don't try to convince anyone who has an opinion different from mine, but I also don't appreciate the disparaging names. I'm not a party line voter and I will consider a well stated opinion but not an insult.
  18. How many Democrats dump Hillary and crossover to former Democrat Trump, if the Republican party allows him to be the nominee? There's no love lost there, maybe it's payback.:dancingpa
  19. The coach needs to grow up, I don't know how old he is but the game is about the players not him. He may very well be a good coach, he just needs to stop getting T'd at critical times.
  20. If what the police stated about conditions England are that critical, then they need to be prepared for some rough times. Back in the 80's when Salman Rushdie wrote The Satanic Verses and promptly was threatened and went into hiding for years, people kind of thought he was a joke. But no one is laughing now.
  21. I don't want guns banned but I do think more gun safety and training should be required, if only to protect the gun owner who has one out of fear. And that is a dangerous situation.
  22. My statement meant that our churches and religious places of worship were not used to hide extremist and their weapons nor was there a need to search them. This thread just happens to be about Islamic Extremists hence the comment that it did not happen here 100 years ago. Maybe this area was less involved but my church was not searched. If there are weapons like this anywhere, well have at it and search wherever the trail leads.
