I couLd see that for sure! I thought he was easily inside the top 7 with a lot of potential to crack the top 5 in the 10th. I don't know the quality of the kids above him, but I think the fans who haven't seen him play before will be really impressed.

Pork Not saying that they won't miss the senior leaders from last season, just simply saying this team will not lack in talent and might even be deeper than last season teams.

This team is inexperienced and young, but to say they are less talented is crazy. The only person who they will have trouble replacing is Henry. This team is still plenty talented and may even be deeper than last year's team.

Several of the region's top players from a season ago also graduated. I really don't think there is another team in the region that is as deep as Mason County and Campbell County. That being said I realize anyone can beat anyone in a single game elimination tournament, but if Mason and Campbell stay healthy there's not another team in the region who can beat them except each other IMO.

Really felt as if Antrobus was a top 5 player in the 10th this year if he would have stayed put. Haven't seen all the kids above him play so I cant really say he is to low on this list, but the 16th region is going to get to watch a kid who can flat score the basketball. Got to see him in the 38th district championship last year and all that could be said was WOW.

I agree, just feel as if a lot of people are overlooking the young talent Mason County has playing this year, personally I have the district ranked: 1. Mason County 2. Augusta 2a. Bracken County 4. St. Pat

To answer the question about Pig, the most recent news I've received is he still plans to be back within the next 2-3 weeks. Also, there is more Augusta and Bracken County talk on this page then talk about Mason County :lol2:

Glad to see this group of seniors go out with a win. Been a long season fighting the injury bug for them, and really good to see them finally walk away on top. Also, congratulations on Coach Thomas on his first win as a high school head coach. Even though they were playing a team trying to build up a newly started program, the main takeaway from tonight was a lot of young talent will be on the field for the Royals next season.

Completely agree! The main reason I think Pig is the best defender is his versatility, he can guard anyone from smaller guards to smaller forwards. And I remember last season when he was matched up against James Bolden and held him to around 10 points.

Really think pig is by far the best defensive player in the region, if he shoots the ball like he did towards the end of the season last year he will be extremely tough to stop.

It is Sub-Par to the standards at Mason County for sure, but in talking about talent Mason County has been down as a whole the past 4-5 years, with last year being the outlier. It took an extraordinary effort from an excellent player from Augusta to eliminate them both of those years. All I was saying was a lot is going to have to change in order for Bracken County to win the district or beat Mason County. What was the score to the regular season game they played last year?

I really think all the talk about the district being so even is a bit out there. Don't get me wrong, on paper they look extremely even. But, when you break them down I still have a hard time seeing Mason County not dominate or even sweep the district. Of course they are young but extremely talented. Bracken County will be extremely improved but they are nothing like the Brent Bach lead teams Coach Hinson has had in the past. Still think the top 2 teams in the district are Mason and Augusta but time will tell

Confidence.... The one word that completely describes this team. This team so far has embraced the underdog roll, and are "chomping at the bit" to prove a lot of people wrong. They are definitely not favorites, but will make some noise this year.

Cummins will by far be the leading scorer in the 10th, but she also has to carry her team a lot more so than O'Mara and even Clos. I think when you take in consideration on who is the best OVERALL player in the region, O'Mara will be hard to beat.

If Mason County has as much success this season as some people this way feel they could, look for Antwavon "Pig" Williams to be a serious contender for 10th region POY. Not saying he is the favorite by any means, but I think he will definitely be in the conversation at the end of the season.

2 horse race IMO: Daniels or Baker

Hope all the hype about the Royals is true, but until they are able to beat Bracken co. Head-to-head they still must be ranked 2nd in their district

I don't think they are deep enough to be considered a favorite, but would definitely be considered a sleeper in my book.

I don't know all the regions well enough to predict them, so I figured I'd ask and see who everyone thought the favorite in their district is! IMO the 10th is Mason County's to win, with Campbell, Scott, and GRC right behind them
