  1. This could be the wildest game we see all year. Both defenses are suspect. The scoreboard operator may need a backup in case the starter needs a breather.
  2. After the top six, it's a revolving door of decent but inconsistent teams. Sometimes all you have to do is win a couple in a row and you'll have a number next to your name. That's life in this six class system.
  3. Emmett Queen has effortless arm strength. There's a throw near the end of this highlight reel where he uncorks a 40+ yard rope with an easy, whip-like motion. Very impressive.
  4. ๐Ÿ“ฐ Headlines ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ - Forget seeing double. Beechwood opponents are so dizzy, they're seeing triple. A Tiger tandem has evolved into a triad as Nathan Pabst joins Tyler Fryman and Emmett Queen in terrorizing defenses. Pabst capped a five touchdown night against CovCath with the game winner with :21 on the clock. Queen wins this week's 'William Tell Marksmanship Award' ๐ŸŽฏ for completing 20 of 24 throws against the Colonels, while Fryman snagged a career best thirteen receptions for 129 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. It was a banner night for the Tigers. It's hard enough to sustain two candidates, let alone three. And to be clear, Fryman is the guy. But Queen is steering the ship and Pabst was the best player on the field in the week's biggest game. - Ja'Hyde Brown is on pace to shatter the state record for touchdown receptions in a season after four of his six receptions reached the end zone against Central Hardin. The current standard is 30 by Owensboro Catholic's William Carrico in 2023. It took Carrico fifteen games to reach that total. Brown is on pace to match it by the end of the regular season. - Kade Goodin turned back the tide, overpowering Meade's Green Wave with a second straight eight touchdown performance. He's played at such a high level so far, that his 384 yards of total offense were a hundred yards less than his average coming in. - It took a minute, but Dre'Mail Carothers and O-Cath finally took flight against Bardstown. Carothers finished with 427 yards of total offense and three combined scores. โ€ผ๏ธMilestoneโ€ผ๏ธ Kasen Brock tore through the Johnson Central defense for 187 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns on ten touches. He's now Pulaski County's all-time career leader in touchdowns. - Zane Johnson threw two touchdown passes and ran for one in limited action as Trinity blew out Male. - Max Johnson threw four touchdown passes for Apollo against Muhlenberg County, giving him eight in his last two games. He's got 20 on the season against a single interception. - Camden Page accounted for four touchdowns as South Warren dominated Christian County. - Mother nature is the only thing that can contain Timmy Emongo, who was limited to just 30 yards on four carries in a weather shortened encounter with Madison Central.
  5. McCracken County ๐ŸŽ vs. Murray ๐Ÿฏ ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ | All Gas, No Breaks In The Wild West ๐ŸŽ | McCracken's horsepower with the ball hasn't been tamed, not by Tilghman or Mayfield. It's the defense that's let them down in their losses, and almost in a couple of their wins. They allowed 51 ppg in Weeks 1-4. ๐Ÿฏ | Winners of nineteen of its last twenty, Murray has endured heavy graduation losses to remain among the best in the west and 3A. The Tigers pass the eye test in the trenches, led by national prospect Ryan Walls. โœ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“– | Murray leads the all-time series 3-0. The Tigers survived a fire fight last year in Paducah, 59-56. The two teams combined for over 1,200 yards. Murray averages 50 ppg and McCracken, 45. The local fire department needs to be on high alert.
  6. Benge's forward momentum is not easy to slow, but he was stopped dead in his tracks on that third and goal direct snap. Ashland manned up when it had to most.
  7. GRC ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ช vs. West Jess ๐ŸŽ ๐Ÿ—ž | Stingy Colts Chasing Perfection; Cards Issue Spoiler Alert ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ช | Knocked down a peg or two by Woodford County following a 4-0 start. The Cards are now the ones in position to spoil an unbeaten season. ๐ŸŽ | Dominated four teams with losing records before stifling fellow surprise unbeaten Lafayette last week. West Jess ranks among the state's top scoring defenses, having not allowed double digits in any game so far. โœ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“– | GRC leads the all-time series 2-1. All meetings have come since 2021, including last year's 35-14 win by the Cardinals.
  8. This one resumes tomorrow. I saw somewhere that Holy Cross led 6-0 in the 1Q at the time of postponement, but don't remember where.
  9. Game Highlights:
  10. OT touchdown and game winning two-pointer:
  11. Game Highlights:
  12. No. Not sure how long the team will be without him. Statement from Russell Superintendent Sean Horne to WSAZ: "The district is aware of the incident that occurred during last Friday's football game involving our coach and student-athlete,โ€ Horne told WSAZ. "This matter is currently under review. Because this is a personnel matter, I will not comment further at this time. The safety and well-being of our student-athletes are our biggest priority. We will continue to take all necessary steps to ensure our student-athletes and students are provided for in a safe and supportive environment."
  13. M-NH ๐Ÿ‡ถ๐Ÿ‡ฆ vs. Graves County ๐Ÿฆ… ๐Ÿ—ž | Weary Eagles Try To Right The Ship Against Another Ranked Foe ๐Ÿ‡ถ๐Ÿ‡ฆ | The Maroons were exposed a little by Paducah Tilghman two weeks ago, though Ryder Sandidge managed over a hundred yards. He's one of the state's leading rushers and the main cog in the Madisonville machine that's averaged 56 ppg in its four wins. ๐Ÿฆ… | Graves is battle hardened, if nothing else. Through five games, the Eagles have rubbed elbows with four teams ranked in the Top 5 of their respective classes and may represent the top four squads in WKY. โœ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“– | Graves County leads 6-5 since 1998. Madisonville won 23-20 last year after suffocating the Graves offense, holding them to 2 yards per carry and 3/16 passing.
  14. Ridner has run the offense well, especially for a freshman. It's a luxury to have that line in front of him. South's defense will be a stern test for that unit and Ridner.
  15. Golden Eagles ๐Ÿฆ… vs. Lions ๐Ÿฆ ๐Ÿ—ž | JC Looks To "Get Right' At Expense Of Unbeaten Boyd โšซ๏ธ๐ŸŸก | EKY's grizzly bear has lost most of its teeth following four straight losses to the murderer's row of Madison Central, Belfry, Pikeville, and Pulaski County. If there's any bite left, Cannonsburg has been a buffet for JC over the years. ๐Ÿ”ดโšช๏ธ | The basketball and baseball school is trying to forge an identity on the gridiron. The Lions are 4-0, but haven't faced anything close to what JC has seen. โœ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“– | Johnson Central leads the all-time series 17-8, including the last fifteen in a row. Boyd gave JC all it could handle last year before falling 21-14 in a head scratcher.
  16. Trojans โš”๏ธ vs. Cougars ๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿ—ž | Unbeaten Grayson Hosts Stiffest Challenge Yet ๐Ÿ”ด๐ŸŸก | The unthinkable was almost thought, but history pushed back as Bowling Green kept Barren at bay last week. The Trojans are physical, but will take the top off a defense if you're caught napping. ๐ŸŸ โšช๏ธ | Are the 5-0 Cougars a mirage, or real enough to keep Barren in the loss column another week? The schedule has been light, but they're coming off a notable win over Greenwood. โœ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“– | Barren County leads the series 12-5 since 1998. Last year's game resulted in a 43-0 shellacking by the Trojans, who held Grayson to negative yards rushing.
  17. The play in question ๐Ÿ‘‡. Pikeville winning renders it a moot point.
  18. There is still a possibility this one resumes later tonight. Apparently both teams want to give it a go. However, the stream will not continue. North Laurel Nation is calling it a night.
  19. Same. Two of the greatest programs in the state and they both have this game circled on the calendar.
  20. Russell had Ashland's back to the ropes near the end of the first half before Trevonte Taylor sprung loose for a 99 yard score. That proved to be the decisive play. The Devils battled all night, but Ashland's speed bites them again. Great effort by Russell to at least give themselves a chance to win.
  21. Pikeville pulls within a game of tying up the all-time series. Belfry now clings to a narrow 41-40-2 lead.
  22. Atherton took an early 7-0 lead before mother nature intervened. The game has been called for tonight, but is scheduled to resume on Sunday evening at 6:00pm.
  23. Final from Somerset. Pulaski wins, 42-14.
  24. Goal line stand by the Tomcats to preserve the 14-7 lead. 2:57 remaining
