For the first time since 2013, both sides come in with a losing record (1-3). East has faced a far more challenging schedule, with its opponents sporting a combined 14-2 record, including Belfry in Week 1. West has competed defensively, but is still searching for an offensive identity.

✏️ 📖 | East Carter leads the rivalry 34-21, all-time. The barrel has resided in Grayson since 2022, with the Raiders winning the last four.

It's barrel week in Carter County!!!!

I can't imagine @16thBBall Fan going against his Raiders. I'm siding with East, as well. They have a tight grip on the rivalry.

Just for the hell of it, I'd love to hear a pick from @barrel , too.

Here's a link to a podcast about the rivalry. The original barrel was a nail keg purchased from a hardware store in Grayson and presented to East after winning the first game in 1973.

I'm going with East Carter in this one.

Two wonderful places with excellent leaders in place as their head coach. I hope Carter County HS never opens up. I know for my 3 kids, I would rather them go to East or West than one big school.

One of my favorite games every fall. When I am 81, this game will definitely be on my list.

Raiders should win this game by double digits, but as with any rivalry game as long as you win by 1 is all that matters. Go Raiders!!
