  1. Not a big game at all to ND. Maybe the 8th or 9th biggest on their schedule. Also, Notre Dame beat Navy by 22, while UCF beat them by 11. In addition to that, UCF beat Memphis by 1, while Missouri beat Memphis by 32. By that logic, we can definitively say that Missouri is a far superior team to UCF.
  2. Yeah...totally awful call. Also, according to the letter of the law, how is that not targeting? Leading with your helmet, right into the ball carrier's face? Not gonna change the outcome, but still pretty hard to understand that whole sequence.
  3. I do appreciate that side of it...But it would really be a shame if they lost this game, and their spot in the playoff, due to the series.
  4. Recently heard this is the last Shamrock Series game for the foreseeable future...Thank goodness! Granted, Syracuse is much better than anticipated, when this game was scheduled...But what other big-time program is silly enough to trade a home game for a neutral site game located 3 hours from the opponent, in mid-November? I think ND will take care of business, but they've got to jump on them early.
  5. Never been in person, but I went to college in Tennessee, and remember watching Gerald Riggs, Jr. lead Red Bank (Chattanooga) to the state title in 2000. The championship game was played in a snowstorm...it was quite a spectacle.
  6. OSU's punt team...Wow! 6 punts downed inside the 10.
  7. Not a fan of the green jerseys...but oh well. If this was a day game, I'd be more concerned. ND has played well in home night games, and I can't imagine an already disheartened FSU will be too excited playing in 20 degree weather. I see a 31-13...or something around there.
  8. Purdue...really impressive! Moore has to be the most impactful freshman in the country. Quite a beatdown.
  9. Wimbush didn't torch them, he had 2 early big plays, one of which was a jump ball.
  10. To call Michigan a bad team, is a bit much. At the very least their defense is very, very good.
  11. I understand that pick plays go uncalled all the time...However, you have to admit, that one was especially obvious. But, if it goes uncalled, it's a great call. I'm sure they knew they had a TD as soon as they saw how the defense was aligned.
  12. If that's not offensive pass interference, there never has been. He didn't even try to pretend to run a route...He just went blocked the guy.
  13. Pitt has a long history of knocking off Top 10 teams, even when they're not very good, so I'm just glad they survived this one. After the Kickoff return for TD to start the 2nd half, and the pick thrown by Book on the following drive, I really thought they were going to lose. Several top 10 teams have looked pretty ordinary today...It happens.
  14. That has to be PI, or illegal contact, or something. If you can just do that to a receiver, that would change the game of football.
  15. Always a fun question. There are some stadiums that are always difficult, regardless of how good the team is. However, the intensity of the fanbase can really fall off with a lack of success. The Swamp used to be an incredibly difficult environment, but seems to have fallen off with a lack of recent success. West Virginia can be a tough spot...when they're really rolling. Iowa strikes me as a place that can really get up for a big opponent, and be a crazy place to play, even if they don't have a great team.
  16. 1. LSU 2. Ohio State 3. Notre Dame 4. Alabama 5. Georgia Everybody thinks Bama is number one, and they may very well be the best team, but their best win was at home against a mediocre Texas A&M team. If we're going to go by who actually has the best win(s), there are 3 teams with wins against 2 ranked teams. LSU winning @ Auburn & neutral site Miami. Ohio State winning @ Penn St. & neutral site TCU (who isn't ranked anymore). Notre Dame beating Michigan & Stanford @ home. Those are the 3 best resumes, at this point. After that, you've got to throw Bama in, just so people don't think you're crazy.
  17. That play call was mind-boggling. Just trying to get too cute, instead of letting your best player make a play. Great comeback by Ohio State.
  18. ND goes to 5-0 with a date in Blacksburg next weekend. Pretty dominant performance, outgaining Stanford by more than 300 yards. With Book at QB, this team is dangerous.
  19. Tua is definitely the frontrunner, but think about how big of a favorite Saquon Barkley was, at this point last year. Things can change. One bad outing on a Saturday night in Baton Rouge would really shake things up.
  20. Candy Corn...and the weird little candies that were wrapped in the orange or black wrapper. I'm not even sure what those were supposed to be.
  21. Not a UK follower, but did catch most of the game last night, and some of the game at Florida. This team plays with A LOT of passion...a fun team to watch.
  22. Season-ending knee injury from the UCLA game. Third season-ending injury in his career...Broken leg in 2015, and broken neck in 2016. Have to feel bad for the guy. He was off to a great start.
  23. This was a debacle. Old Dominion's backup QB threw for almost 500 yards.
  24. They were too one-dimensional with Wimbush, even when they were blowing people out last year. I just don't think they trusted him in the passing game last year, and they were hoping this year would be better in that regard...but it wasn't. To that point, the play calling today, once they got a good lead, was way, way more aggressive than it had been with Wimbush. They were trying to build a lead, instead of just trying to protect it.
