  1. You are correct. They are FCS, but I believe Morehead's entire conference does not give athletic scholarships.
  2. Ryle has Justin Selby (DB) with a D1 offer from Morehead. Interest from WKU, Purdue and UC. Zach Ryltewski (DB) was a post season all area selection. Charles Golden (DB/LB) started many games last year, super strong and fast. Many of this years Defensive players had integral parts in what I thought was a strong D that gave up less than 2 TDs per game last season.
  3. Bingo on this post. We went (prior to my son's junior year last season) to all the D1 KY camps. Along with some MAC camps and even Big 10 Camps. I say Thomas More and Lindsey Wilson at all of them. Other D3 schools as well. We also did some combines, Nike Opening and even signed up for a NUC event, which we skipped because of whether. In retrospect the only non college camp I would have done would have been Sound Body Sound mind in Detroit as this will be loaded with D1, D2 and D3 schools. But this camp is probably sold out. Unfortunately my son is on a waiting list this year. We haven't decided what camps to do this summer yet. He may commit prior to camp season. You are absolutely right about spacing them out. These kids get after it. Went to 10 camps last year. My son was wore out, plus injury risk. I say an ACL tear and and a nasty concussion. What I can say about the D1 camps is that you will see good competition in the 1 vs 1's. Probably better competition than you will vs your own teams scout offense or defense. Good Coaching instructions as well.
  4. Coach Engler definitely is gonna challenge these young QB's With the Dalton, GA 7 v 7, Trinity Scrimmage and the Indianapolis Cathedral Home game, you will see who steps up. Junior Jake Smith had an award winning showing at an Off Season Trent Dilfer camp. These challenges should get the District ready. I am also liking what they are doing with their WR corps during spring ball. Chisholm can catch as good as he can run. His yards after catch are scary too.
  5. Yes he does. His wing span is that of a 6'5" or 6' 6" kid. He just measured 6' 4" at EKU this past weekend. Ryle's zone blocking scheme suits their passing game. I think you will see him pull more this year. He has really been working on using his arms as he is driving blocking. While blocking he will steer the defenders shoulder pads like a steering wheel away from the hole he is opening up. We'll see how that works for him this season. Picking up a lot of techincal tricks from these coaches he's meeting on recruiting trips. Harder to push people around in College like he can in High School.
  6. Ryle roster has Novakovich at 6'0" 175 lbs. Believe that was last year's roster. Sure he's bigger now. Ryle will probably have 9 or 10 LB's & DE's fighting for Playing time. The player who played the most was probably Charles Golden (Sr) Very quick, strong, smooth and smart. He can play DE, LB and DB. I'd love to see him at DE.
  7. This would break my heart !!! Hoping it's not true
  8. Couldn't be happier for this young man, I use the word man for a reason. After many years of my son competing against him, I finally gotten a chance to meet and talk to him during various recruiting things. Very respectful, looks you in the eye, not afraid to introduce himself to other parents. Seems very genuine. Seems like he was raised right. Congrats to him and his family (met his father too, super good dude)
  9. Wouldn't mind it either, would mean some tailgate scenarios with Budman
  10. Found this on twitter, great move, great game, great kid !!!! Twitter
  11. Parker Bisek - 2018 Ryle OLine added Marshall and Murray State
  12. This altercation / confrontation discussion is unfounded. Nothing happen or should happen. This is my interpretation after looking at the video. I wasn't there, but it appeared that in the excitement of storming the court, a fan may have bumped into a player. That player reacted. The just lost a heartbreaker in the last second. Their season is over. He reacted because of that. Really not that big of a deal.
  13. Replacing Tanner Morgan is a challange, but this kid is a excellent athlete. Morgan worked with Jake very closely. He and His parents are very committed to his improvement. Very strong desire to be Ryle's next QB and be a successful one at that. He will definitely surprise some people. I actually believe that the challenge that comes with replacing Morgan is motivating him. Replacing the Man is hard, replacing the man that replaces the man is much easier. Jake seems to relish in the opportunity. Very impressive to me in my opinion. Great Kid, and love his Family !!!
  14. Going to WKU Junior Day on 3/4, Purdue on 4/1, Toledo Spring Practice 3/25 so far. Wife took him to Cincy Jr Day this past weekend and went to Miami OH Jr Day a few weeks ago.
  15. If you haven't seen Ryle's Chisholm play you should, you will be in for a treat. Very smart, quick, amazing cut backs. Crazy strong for his size. Can't arm tackle him. Believe he ended up 6A's leading rusher with 1600+ yards. Great kid on and off the field, just as good in the classroom. Wish I had his work ethic : )
  16. Yes, confirmed. Weighed in at 285 at Miami (OH) Jr day.
  17. The Triple Crown Mafia : ) I live in Union, I don't even know what that is, I've just heard the term Triple Crown Mafia from time to time. It makes me chuckle.
  18. I didn't mean to allude that Ryle didn't have a program. They certainly do. It's just that the weight room is small and under equipped. With the numbers they have, the kids have to finish their workouts elsewhere. They need better equipment and facilities. But Textbooks and school expansions come first, right? : )
  19. Ryle HS has a college degreed (WKU) certified trainer as part of their coaching staff. Not sure if he is voluntary or not. I could't tell you. But I can tell you is that they have the absolute worst weight room that I have ever seen. It won't get better for a long time. Heck, classrooms don't even have enough textbooks for students. They have to check one out to do homework and bring it back the next day for some classes, even core classes. Because of the amount of kids and the lack of a sufficient weight room, may finish their workout at local health clubs. My son does that. On top of that he goes to ASAP for speed and agility 2-3 times a week. That I can tell you put him over the edge. He is a big kid, but the speed and agility that Forever talks about was essential, I can honestly say it was the biggest reason that he has earned 1 FBS offer and 1 FCS offer in his Junior year. He went to camps last summer and put together mearsurables along with his dimensions to spark interest. Then the game film for his Junior year. If it weren't for his footwork, speed and strength that he got from ASAP he would be just another player looking to get noticed. It also builds a TON of confidence in the athlete that carries over to the field. That is a HUGE intangible. If you feel you can beat the guy across from you, then that's half the battle. Have the strength, speed and feet to do so helps even more. Can't say enough about ASAP. He preaches athleticism. Cross fit and that other stuff (squats, deadlifts, power cleans) are all Olympic lifts. Are they training to be Olympic lifters or Athletes? Makes complete sense to me.
  20. Ditto on the great kid and great family. So happy he's staying home. Very happy for his folks !!!!
  21. I can only speak for the Ryle kids, but Morgan (QB), Chisholm (RB), Ross (OL) and Bisek (OL) were named to one or more All State Teams.
