I've always loved how Holmes is so disciplined on defense. They put their trust in each other and most of all trust their coach, and it flows. It's great seeing a team that is defensively sound because that's a team effort rather than selfish play. Hats off to Holmes!

I don't think Scott really got that "pre-season love" you're talking about. But rest assured I'm sure they will be fine. As for Campbell County. They are a solid team. You have to remember they have some young players. They may have put too much pressure on themselves with all the pre-season love they were getting. I'm sure once they settle down and just play the game they love to play they will be great! There is a lot of talent there. Also, can't be looking at this game like they blew it, Franklin County is a great team. Most projected they would win this battle. Great job and best of luck the rest of the season to you both!

I would definitely put Bracken in the top 5! I believe your top 5 is more accurate. It is preseason rankings though, nothing to live or die by. People are getting so caught up in Mason and Campbell, they are overlooking other teams. Overall I believe the 10th region this year is really strong. To have the teams that are in their top 5, or 6 since Bracken is put there, everyone will have to bring their A game. Sleep on teams like Scott, GRC, and Bracken then you will be hit with a rude awakening.

It is rough having a new coaching change at all. Then having the new coach resign only weeks before the season starts..... I feel bad for the girls! I hope this is happening for the better and a new coach steps in ASAP. I would hate to see their season go down the drain because there is a lack of leadership. I wish the Gallatin County girls the best and I hope it works out for the bunch!

You are absolutely right. She is so unselfish that she gets looked over, like I just did . She is a force to be reckoned with. You look at her size and you think how is she going to handle any bigs, then by the end of the game you feel sorry for that big girl for having to try to keep up with Schwaber. She put on a show in districts and shocked teams. I believe this girl hasn't reached her peak yet and will continue to get better.. Which is a scary thought.

I would have to completely disagree with that statement. If you look at last season Stapleton stepped up from shooting guard to point and blew all expectations away. Now it will be her second year at that spot and she'll be more comfortable and won't feel as much pressure. This girl has grown so much over the years, I believe she's the most underrated player in the region. Then you have Kallmeyer, granted she's a firecracker and she let's herself get in her own way sometimes. But man, when she just plays she's the best athlete in the region. She is quick, fast, can jump out of the gym, and in the press she will get just about every long ball thrown. Then of course is Celephane. Second year starter, I see her stepping up more this year and turn some heads. They have Dant in the middle. She's not as talented as the other three, but she is aggressive and if I'm not mistaken had a great game against GRC's two big girls last year. Bottom line, I believe there is too much talent and experience that even if they do screw up a time or two it wouldn't matter as much because their experience would take over. I wouldn't knock them out yet.....

Over the last few years I've became a huge supporter of the 10th region, no disrespect to the 9th... I think the number of athletes in this region is phenomenal! But I do think the top players list is completely wrong. Not to get anything started with the camels, but I would pick Kramer to be on my team before Clos any day. Overall I think she offers more up to the table. I would also have Jolly on the list as well! I think Stapleton for Scott is without a doubt should be in the top 3. I'm sure Kallmeyer and Celephane would have something to say about the top 10 as well from Scott. We all know we could go on and on about the list and we all have our opinions, but it is nice to share them! HA! I'm just glad I don't have to put the list together, it would be too stressful.

I would put Holy cross 4th. I don't see how Boone is ranked as high as they are especially above Cooper and NCC. They lost a hall of fame coach to retirement and the personnel there isn't what it used to be. Held from Cooper will definitely be somebody to watch out for. And with NCC having Davenport, I just don't see them getting beat by Boone.

Wow! Very harsh in the ranking! I know the 10th has some players recognized, but give them some credit! Didn't Mason county have a good showing at state?! Why not even give 1 honorable mention out to a girl on that team? The 10th had some pretty strong teams... And then you have the 9th region, who had a very hard region! No one from Holmes or highlands?!?! Both of those teams had the state champs in their region, and still contended! Speaking of the state champs.. You have McClendon as honorable mention. I know her stats may not look great compared to the other girls, but Holy cross wouldn't have been the team they were without her! She was their general and did a Heck of a job with this team and all she gets is an honorable mention!?! Just disappointed...

Holmes 20+. Not to say that Williamstown is that bad, it's just Holmes is that aggressive. I've liked what Williamstown has done with its program, I just don't think they are quite ready yet.

My response was never to discredit highlands, I love watching them play when I am available! I'm positive the coaches know exactly what they're doing! Heck, I'm sure the girls would rather be playing games than having 2 hour practices!! Tonight's game will be enjoyable to watch! That being said, I feel like people discredit what Scott has done in their season. Like I said in previous threads, I'm sure they love flying under the radar. But give these girls credit, and some people on here need to stop trying to tear them down.

I never knew Monday was after Saturday........? Here's a break down: 1. This is scheduled with TWO coaches involved. If Highlands had a problem with the date, then they would've picked a different date. That easy. 2. I do see on here that Scott was supposed to play Friday night, but cancelled because Augusta's boys were in the finals of the All A. 3. SK lost to Scott 3 weeks ago fair and square.... If scheduling was the porblem SK lost, or so you think, take it up with the coaching staff to not allow that to happen again.. Bottom line, get over it and move on.

hmmm... tough one! I will give the edge to CC since they will be hosting this game, and seem to be finding themselves more and more as the season goes on. Beechwood will battle with them though! Campbell by 10
