  1. As for this things were not all honkey dory at SK this summer too. There was a lot of talk of Jones shopping schools as well.
  2. I think the attraction is from back to back region championships from a few years ago yes it has been a few years. Also the amount of players who have been recruited recently to college programs. Shows the success that these players get beyond high school both Bosse girls went on to college Owings, Wainscott, Stephenson, Conley. Since SK has been in the 8th they have been either district champs or runner up, and also have made a run in the regional Tournament making the finals for a bunch of those times except for 1 year that I can remember. Also I know this is not a big deal but it helps having a couple of coaches with Div. 1 experience coming from University of Louisville and Xavier University
  3. My problem is that the post said name players who lived in kenton county before their basketball careers and I did I can keep going if you want and a few of these ladies have went and won National Championships and been very successful in college careers. My bitterness on this issue is that saying all SK does is recruit well no offense to RCC9 but Highlands has a player now that has played for 3 different high schools in 3 years, um so is that consider school shopping???
  4. Hey 73 is way too warm to be playing a basketball game you'd have to stop the game and take a heat index then require water breaks and all that you just can't do that :D
  5. I guess so cause we all know that you have so much room to walk behind the benches at SK so should the SK people get angry when the visiting teams fans walk in front of their bench to find a seat, or walk on the floor in front of the table. Come On Man
  6. Niece Buckner Gilliam Dressman Hmmm I'll go last year's team too L. Cox A. Jones E. Jones Ok ok I'll go a couple of years ago A. Owings S. Wainscott Do you want me to keep going??? SK has a great coach in Coach Stowers and players want to be successful and they think that they can do that with him and the team. All the players that I mentioned have lived in Kenton County prior to ever thinking about playing basketball for SK. Also if you want to get technical Niece lived on the border of the SK and Scott line soooo lets just stop that right now
  7. Also with SK changing the starting lineup it's what is you look for in your team, play with the lineup early in the season and see where it goes. I bet when Buckner comes back from injury and gets a couple of games under her belt someone else is going to lose a starting position. Harney maybe??? Jones???? Harmeyer???? The only 2 for sure starters for right now are Niece and Meier, the other positions are play for it or lose it from what I can see and with talking around with some of the SK people
  8. Ok here are the minutes from the enquirer Bush 8 Chenot 9 Dressman 7 Gilliam 18 Harmeyer 23 Harney 23 Jones 21 Meier 18 Niece 24 Waite 9 So primarily the girls who did not play in the jv game played their game then was subbed often with the JV players, also more minutes were relied on them due to having 3 other players out with injury Stamper and Buckner then with Vickers getting injured in the JV game those minutes had to go somewhere
  9. Ok to clear some things up a bit this is from my view subs were checking in all game but as for the 4th quarter subs were at the table at 6min mark of 4th and there was no stoppage till around 4min mark. Plus 3 JV players that dress varsity were injured so there would have to be at least varsity players on the floor to make 5. As far as the JV coach walking on the floor, he called timeout before he left the bench, closet ref signaled but players kept playing. Bad officiating caused the whole walking on the floor on both ends fouls were getting a little excessive and the officials were not protecting shooters. Harney in the game to work on running pg and no other reason. Don't forget she is still new to this team and they are still figuring out what roles she can fill last night was to see if she can run the 1. The JV players out scored the varsity in the 4th and that was without pressing. Wouldn't have been considered running up the score if NCC would've scored. SK up 28 when at 4:30 mark in 4th, JV did NOT press and ran offense, got stops and extended lead to 40. NCC also had 4 starters in the game till under 3min would you want your jv players going against varsity and get embarrassed ask that. As far as the whole coach stowers coming from the stands no one wants to say this so I will. After the JV coach had his say with the official and started to walk away from him the Official then went after the JV coach very aggressively not letting the Coach to be able to talk to his team during the timeout that he called. So he came out to defuse the situation with his staff and officials now that's a HEAD COACH Why say something if we want are not going to speak the whole truth. Shm!!!
  10. SK 44-23 in the 3rd I'm not at the game but just got an update. Sounds like SK is commanding this one
  11. I heard that there is something brewing in Joe Stark anyone confirm?
  12. Trimble was senior lead SK was sophomore and juniors SK comes back with a lot of experience should be interesting what happens in the off season
  13. Both teams shot terrible tonight SK was 36% from the field and Trimble was only 47 the game was won at the free throw line SK was 5 of 16 and Trimble was 10 of 20. Defensively it was well played from both sides Trimbles big girl hit 3 or 4 3's and was actually impressive to see a girl like that shoot from behind the arch. As for officiating I feel bad for the 6th region teams that have to put up with that type of calls. I understand letting the girls bump and bang but when two hands goes straight into someones back it's a foul. The officials thought hey I'm officiating a regional final and I want everyone to know I'm here I think that the one was more worried about SKs bench then calling the game. But you have to overcome showboats like that and adjust and that just didn't happen tonight. Trimble has a very rough game vs Campbell Co.
  14. Wanting to hear people's opinion on the rivalry game. I'm going to take SK by 10 due to just the pure athletism that they have. Meier has been stepping up in the post and is starting to get her feet under her. Niece over the Christmas break has been scoring close to 30 points a game along with 8 rebounds. Should be a fun one to see.
  15. Final from last night. The Lady Pioneers played fairly well. Seemed like a close game in the first quarter then SK took control of the game not letting up. Noble from St. Henry went out with a knee injury and had to be helped off the floor. Simon Kenton plays Scott on Wednesday
  16. Niece had 27 points 8 rebounds 9 assists in last nights semi-finals.Tonight Ally had 33points 8 rebounds and 8 assists Along with Meier had 15 points 8 rebounds and 10 blocks. in last night's contest. Meier tonight played great but had a quiet stat line. Sounds like the Pioneers are starting to click. I can only imagine how they will be when they get Harmeyer back
  17. Simon Kenton Rachel Cox (Transylvania) Abby Owings (Thomas More) Maggi Bosse (Thomas More) Paige Bosse (Lindsey Wilson) had to quit due to injury Christina Cook (track and field Thomas More)
  18. SK might have only won by 2 but Walton pretty much threw everything they have at SK and they still won. Plus Niece only had 2 points and Meier only had 8. If you think that that will ever happen again well I would have to have you committed into a mental health institution my friend. Also you are right Tiger SK is a good Team and are they dominating, not yet but they are that 1 player short right now and once Meier starts getting hers dominating might be too low of a word for that team. As for SK winning the 8th there is no one in the region that can compete with them right now Walton was probably the only competition and well as I said they don't have much of anything else to throw at SK. So with 3 weeks into the season it may sound bold but I would have to agree that SK wins the 8th without a doubt.
  19. This should change next week with Holy Cross losing to SK and Boone Co
