  1. SK didn't ask to be taken out of the 9th region, the KHSAA moved a bunch of teams out and switched the regions up, so that's not SK's fault that they don't play in the 9th anymore. Actually I would much rather see them in the 9th makes it easy on my traveling costs to keep driving down to Louisville to see them play in their region. good thing gas prices are low. All at the end of the day the only things that matters is district games, and region games.
  2. So are you saying that the top 6 teams in the 9th region would beat SK?
  3. Simon Kenton is good and they are now getting into the big part of their schedule. But as for Holy Cross It's going to be a good matchup but I think SK will have put it all together by that game and have the defensive dominance. Their Win over Louisville Central proves that they are a huge defensive threat against a very athletic team.
  4. my point is that over the past 9 years Holmes hasn't been relevant. Why play a team that doesn't prepare SK for the dance. Anyways besides W-town, Grant County, Walton Verona, and all the teams down I-71. Everyone else is irrelevant to play.
  5. This is a good win over a very good Collins team
  6. Still with all of that said, Only 1 of them gets to move on the others go home.
  7. Maybe this could be the reason??? Jan 4 2005 SK 40 Holmes 37 Jan 3 2006 SK 40 Holmes 30 Jan 4 2007 SK 50 Holmes 47 Jan 5 2008 SK 60 Holmes 47 Jan 2 2009 SK 72 Holmes 31 Jan 2 2010 SK 64 Holmes 54 Jan 3 2011 SK 48 Holmes 29 Jan 2 2012 SK 65 Holmes 57 Jan 2 2013 SK 61 Holmes 37
  8. This is incorrect, this tournament was not a traditional tournament where there is a champion, it was where you come down and play. There was no tournament MVP, or all tournament team. After each game there was a player of the game announced, today's player of the game was Maggi Bosse, she had 22 points and 6 rebounds. The Pioneers went down and won all 3 games. There are some things that the pioneers need to work on, limiting unforced turnovers, and press offense are the 2 biggies. But I am sure that those things won't be a problem for long. 11-0 after Christmas and Holiday break is outstanding. The pioneers are back in action on Friday against region opponent Oldham County
  9. That makes SK 10-0 on the season. I did some research and that is the best start since Coach Stowers took over. The best start before this year was last year at 9-1. His record is now 271-126 with a 68.3% winning percentage.
  10. How does it start to cause issues? If you play well with each other and each player knows their role on the team then that my friend will make you a team to be made of. I feel that some players these days think it's about the name that's on the back of the jersey instead of the one on the front. Teams should be like a family. Love each other, work with each other and you will preserve. It's ok from time to time to get into each other's throats. But that's out of love and care for each other. You bounce back from it and you get back to work.
  11. I don't know many details but what I do know is that Madi Meier controlled the block as she had 17 points and 12 rebounds and 4 block shots. Stats for the game are on the khsaa website, that's where I saw final numbers at. SK plays again tomorrow morning at 11am against a sound Muhlenburg County team.
  12. Ally Niece from SK has to be up there. She already has over 1,000 points in her varsity career. She makes a very nice compliment for the lady pioneers offense
  13. The Lady Pioneers continue their hot streak going to 9-0 for the season.
  14. That is a very strong statement. But the lady pioneers are starting put things together. They played very good defense against Central to win the South Oldham tournament. Even though one of there starters came back from an injury. It was like she was never gone. Simon Kenton needs to keep pushing hard for any run at state. But as of right now they are the best team in the 8th Region. I don't know since I havent seen Holy Cross or Highlands play yet but to me it seems like SK is the best team in northern kentucky.
  15. They tried getting into that tournament but it was full. They will be back in it next year I'm sure they have already told coach true to put them back in the tournament.
  16. Ally Niece was the tournament MVP and Maggi Bosse was selected to the all tournament team. I also heard that the big girl had to of had a double-double. Simon Kenton is the only undefeated team left in the region.
  17. That's amazing for a young team. Congrats to Coach Stowers and his staff starting out 8-0.
