Another solid win for Owensboro in Apollo's gym..Very interesting 3rd region this year..Always nice too see Apollo and Owensboro battle at the top. Doesn't suprise me that Miller was in the mix..he outplayed Holman all four games in the Christmas tourney over here in Illinois.

Dont recall if Simmons has played Holman this year, but had 8 pts and 5 reb in the game last Feb. 21st. I think thats the last time they played , Holman had 10 pts and 8 reb. Should be a good match up come this Feb. I live in Illinois but would love to travel too see that match up.

Attended this game as I live nearby here in Illinois , unbelievable atmosphere standing room only...Owensboro had approximately 20 fans Harrisburg at least 2000 to 2500..Harrisburg rain threes all night long Owensboro took all their best punches and came out on top. Miller and Holman 17 and 18 points each.. came to play..Harrisburg had won the previous four championships..great win and great experience for OHS going foreword.

Owensboro wins the semi final afternoon game 65 to 62 before a packed house at the El Dorado holiday tournament. Miller and Holman had 21 and 20 points.. West Frankfort was undefeated coming into the match- up..moved on to play Harrisburg in final.

#1 seeded Owensboro moves into semi-final round Monday at 1:30pm to play un-defeated West Frankfort (IL) Miller 20 points in first half..Not sure about any other stats 2 seed and 4 seed still in tourney also.

I'll agree a 60 point win is not nearly enough when 2 players sit out the first half. Should have not set the starters after the first quarter and maybe it would have been a larger victory.

Owensboro was invited to this tournament because another local school opted out.. I suppose they could have sat at home and not played at all..this was a seeded tourney and Owensboro received the number one seed..of 16 schools ..Harrisburg High , IL won the Illinois 2A championship two years ago they are also in tournament...

Final from Eldorado Holiday Tournament Holman and Miller didn't start or play on until halfway through the third quarter. .Holman only had two points on a one handed catch alley oop slam.Miller had around 10 points but only played approximately five minutes total.. Darion Morrow 22 first quarter points and it was 45-9 after the first 8 minutes...Owensboro starting point guard Phillips is back after missing several games..however back up point guard Jacoby Harris on crutches...full-court press was too much for Galatia..Owensboro will play the El Dorado, IL. Vs Hardin Co.,IL winner tomorrow night at 8:30

Might be lazy..might be conditioning..either way it's early an no one could know where to rank all these teams..they lost 2 games so far to Doss and Wayne Co. Who's to say those aren't top 5 teams by end of year..Owensboro plays Hoptown and Lou. Trinity toward end of season. Great measuring stick at that point...one things certain..very exciting season for both these teams awaits..

Yeah ..shame all those schools consolidated...Corky Withrow was another great from coal country

I'm pretty sure Owensboro is still without there starting point guard. Also, Phillips is the name mentioned here in the OHS vs Warren Central thread....great tourney so far..hope a Kentucky school wins it...
