Whats considered nationally?

Any extra info? Sounds like an exciting way to start the season for both teams.

Was this their first matches of the year? When do they play next?

I'm not so much a grape juice drinker as much as not a fan of TSE. I need to get over it but it still urks me. And its not so much Buck, he seems to be a really nice guy when I've talked to him. If TSE came into the scene and built their program like most do, by just being the best at what they do, then I wouldn't be so against them. My feeling is they built the program by persuading kids to move clubs to continue their HS career at HS. Proof being that 90% of NDA's team plays for TSE. There just isn't a separation of club and HS and where a kid can be a kid. I'll stand down and let it go. :idunno:

The sad thing is NDA is not the only school this happens out. Good coaches leave schools all the time because the lack of support from administration. Makes me sick to see an AD that does nothing for their coaches or their programs. From a parents standpoint your job is to support your coaches and your player. Most parents seem to forget the 1st part of that...

And the sad this is this isn't the first time parents drive very good coaches off. Seems like every year we hear about this on multiple boards.

Thanks for saying that because if that was true it minimizes the effort any kid that is wanting to continue their academics and basketball career by going to a D3 school. Based on the numbers that the NCAA publishes, it is still really a low percentage of kids who will play basketball at any of the 3 NCAA levels past high school. I would say during AAU you are on a team with individuals that are picked for certain roles and certain positions. I feel in HS kids may play out of their normal position because their team may lack that certain role. I know you said college, but using you for an example. You were forced to play the 4/5 due to being the 3rd tallest on the team when that was your not your normal position. Had you had a 6'7+ kid playing he 5 it would have pushed you more into a shooting role which you were better at. I think in AAU (or any league mentioned below) kids play more of the role they will want to play in college. Just my thoughts.

So you hit the nail on the head. Its been within the last two years. Since you brought up his name, you can't take away what I heard from the parent that Buck said to them. It really doesn't matter much anymore. Its not a secret and people will continue to leave clubs like KNJV & NKYVC and move over to TSE feeling they need that one up (as someone said above) on the other kid whose parents are saying hey won't let someone dictate where their kid will play. As far as Morgan goes, if he decided to not play her it wasn't going to hurt her college choices, that would have only hurt he team. Morgan is one of those players that only come around every once and a while in NKy in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, there are some very very good players in NKy. Morgan has had the opportunities to do things that I think most would love to have had being that she was so go in HS. For NKy, I hope that we see more kids like her in the future.

I'll agree with most of what you said with exception to what I've placed in bold. When you hear 1st hand from a parent that they were told their daughter wasn't going to play at NDA unless they switched, then the rest of the parents follow.

Agree, HS is such a different animal than AAU. For some reason kids tend to play at another level during AAU season. Maybe some of the HS coaches should take note.

NDA I will agree had some very high caliber players over the last few year and I would have to say, even a mediocre coach could have done that well with they talent they had. I think the turmoil has a lot to do with coaches from one particular club trying to turn their high school teams into breeding grounds for their club programs. Pretty ingenious if you ask me.

First, yes I was way too long winded.. :ohbrother: But I have to totally agree with what dallaslaredo said previously. IMO Louisville schools are doing more for the state of Kentucky in volleyball than what is really noticed. More girls appear to be playing club volleyball which in turn only helps to make teams better. It may be once/twice in 20 years another school wins a state tournament.

I think this year for Dixie their success/failure will be if Chevy pushes his players to get the ball inside. I've saw Bradfield play last weekend at the tournament in Cincy and he was unstoppable. He seemed to score at will. In the game before Bradfield's team on Saturday Meyer played and honestly he must have been off, which happens. He seemed to force drives when their wasn't a shot. Again, he may have just been off, but I still look for Bradfield to be the talk of Dixie if they can get him the ball.
