I have seen 5 of the 16 teams play and from what I've seen out of Elliott county this year they will struggle to compete. I hope not but they just don't have the athletes that these other schools do. Their staring guards are maybe 5"5.

Here are the facts with stats provided. Morgan finished 22-6, won their district, and regional runner-up. Rowan county finished 23-7, won their district, and made it to regional semi-finals. Both players are very similar with their stats. Jair Jackson shouldn't even be considered for player of the year due to Greenup's 12-18 record. Yes I think that must play a factor when considering POY award. Now if Jackson had 23 ppg to go along with those rebounds then I'd say you could throw his name out there. But that isn't the case. Perry is a Jr and will undoubtedly be the #1 ranked pre-season player of the year again in the 16th next year. Maybe try and give the kid some credit instead of downing him all of the time. You will feel better about yourself. Even if Harold comes back to lead your Musketeers next season. I think he is at 2549 career points. Morgan had 5 games that were not made up due to weather also.

Not real sure but I think its between 2500 to 2600. Morgan should be as good next year. I know they lose Redparth and that hurts, but don't discount the fact that those returning kids will put in a lot of hard work to get ready for next season.

They def will be. He is a game changer. Elliott def the fav next year also as they only lose Holbrook and Sloas out of their top 7. Rowan loses Moore, Callahan and Graham. Boyd loses a lot. Morgan loses Redparth but return 4 starters. East losing several keys players. West has everyone back. Fleming loses Williams. Menifee loses their best 2 players. Ashland will have most key guys back but Nick Miller. Raceland loses their best 2 players. Greenup loses Jair Jackson, big time loss for them. Lewis returns some real good players.

You will be impressed with his driving ability. Very quick. Not a great shooter. Only averages around 8 per game but still an 8th grader.

I agree with you on a lot of this. The little point guard though got in foul trouble and it really hurt Morgan last night. Yes he did make a few costly turnovers but he's only a freshman and definitely is a starter. Sparkman and Collins made several turnovers that were very costly. Prater at least attacks the basket, whereas Sparkman and Collins are so hesitant when they get the ball that they end up making terrible decisions. Sparkman has very little offensive ability. Teams know they can slack off on him and help defend the other guys. Perry was off last night and that does not happen often. I agree with you about Adams getting more shot attempts. He is a real good shooter. Redparth should have had more plays ran for him this year, I also agree with you there. I think that pass cut offense really limits players Like Perry and Redparth who are both slashers. And when they can drive to the hoop it should also open up some good looks for Adams on the perimeter.

I have watched a lot of 16th region games this year. And I think your team rankings have been pretty much spot on all year. The kids from Menifee co Thomas Chaney and Jordan Mann I feel are also worthy of mentioning. Both averaged over 16ppg, and Chaney nearly 9 rpg.

As much as I'd like to see Elliott county play well and represent the 16th region they will struggle vs Bowling Green. I think Bowling Green wins by 15.

You win some you lose some. Perry didn't have a good game. Elliott county played a great game. Morgan fought hard. I'm still very proud of all the boys. They worked hard to get there. I hope Elliott plays well at Rupp. I'll cheer them on throughout the state tournament. Perry is still a great player and accomplished a lot of good things this season. He's a great kid and works hard.

Elliott county has beat Morgan 3 times this year. So I'm gonna say yes. They play about 7 or 8 kids. Elliott county guards are really small (Griffith boys) but they are both smart and great players. And the other 3 starters for the Lions probably are 6'0, 6'5, and 6'5. All 3 really good players. Their kids off of the bench also bring a lot of energy. Someone who follows them closely may be able to tell your more accurately their height. Jordan and Redparth are both great players but as we all know it is a team game. And Elliott county plays great team ball.
