Peyton Dove throws a no-hitter for the Cardinals. He struckout 14 batters as the Cardinals win their 6th straight game and move to 12-5 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Bourbon County on Tuesday night for a 40th District showdown.

I agree with you. I am sure that we will see a much better team when the Breds visit Cardinal Field on May 12th.

The score was 10-1 after 5 innings. GRC scored 11 runs in the top of the 6th inning. Coach Davis held up many runners as the Cardinals went station-to-station. Also, many runners on third base did not advance to home on wild pitches. We didn't tag from 3rd base on the fly out to right field for the 2nd out. Here is how the batting order played out in the top of the 6th inning with the new pitchers that came in relief of Nathan Fryman. Today's game between South Laurel and GRC was canceled. GRC won the following road games this week: GRC 8 @ Madison Southern 7 GRC 18 @ Paris 0 (in 5 innings) GRC 21 @ Harrison County 1 (in 6 innings) GRC is now 11-5 on the season. The Cardinals are 11-1 vs. Kentucky teams. As stated above, they defeated #17 Scott County, 3-2, earlier in the season and have a convincing, 10-3, victory over Sayre. The Cardinals lost to 4 very good Ohio schools in Georgia over spring break. One of those schools, Cincinnati McNicholas, defeated the Cardinals, 8-7. By comparison, #15 Beechwood defeated Cincinnati McNicholas, 4-3, earlier in the season. IMO, the Cardinals should receive much more consideration in these rankings.

For Harrison County, Ryan Smiley had a single. Lucas Sullivan had a single. Bryce Henderson had a single.

I have watched these hitters from Greenup County for the past 10 years. They are smart enough to figure out Planck and Jordan after seeing them more than once. Rowan County and West Carter would not meet until the semifinals if both win their districts. The only scenario where Planck and Jordan would not face Greenup County in the 16th Region Tournament would be if Rowan County and West Carter play each other in one side of the bracket and Greenup County is on the other side.

I know from personal experience facing a future 1st round draft pitcher in Brad Duvall from Virginia Tech that the more times one sees the 94 mph fastball and the 88mph slider that you are better prepared for it. I would not throw Planck or Jordan against Greenup County until the Regional Tournament. By the way, I eventually hit a game-winning RBI single against Duvall for a 2-1 win. The more times I saw him, the better I hit.

Highs will be in the 60's and 70's next week.
