Harrison and Nicholas are the same distances to each location. Maybe Pendleton won't want to continue playing at Mason County and will choose to drive an additional 25 minutes for the change in venue. Robertson is the only school close enough to Mason to truly say no, but it is only 33 minutes more for them to Montgomery. Some of you make this distance out to be a monumental task.

Harrison County HS to Montgomery County HS is 53 minutes. Nicholas County HS to Mason County HS is 35 minutes. Nicholas County HS to Montgomery County HS is 37 minutes. Pendleton County HS to Mason County HS is 54 minutes. Pendleton County HS to Montgomery County HS is 79 minutes. Robertson County HS to Mason County HS is 29 minutes. Robertson County HS to Montgomery County HS is 62 minutes.

Your argument is with the KHSAA and the arranging of the regions. You can't blame the 40th district for being an outlier in terms of geography. When it is our turn to host, then it is our turn to host. No selfishness there. We travel to Mason County 3 out of 4 years. Truly, that is unselfish!

Selfishness? 40th district will host the 10th Region tournament every 4 years from now on. Once GRC gets its gym built one of these days, then it will be every 8 years at GRC.

I like the way the Cardinals played for 3 quarters. The beginning of the 4th quarter was when the Indians took off and created a double digit lead by going on a 15 to 6 run. The score was 58-48 with 3:42 remaining in the 4th quarter. GRC clamped down and kept pace, but it was not enough. I look forward to the rematch in 2 weeks at Clark County.

The difference in the game was not the free throws in the 4th quarter as GRC was only 0 for 2, whereas Montgomery County was 4 for 6. For the game, GRC was 6 for 12 and Montgomery County was 9 for 11. This does not account for the 11 point difference (21 to 10) in the 4th quarter. The difference in the 4th quarter was rebounds. GRC had 5 rebounds in the 4th quarter. Montgomery County had 12 rebounds in the 4th quarter! Too many "one and done" shots in the 4th quarter for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals were without the services of Jenkins tonight. Tough loss for the Cardinals as they fall to 8-8 on the season and 1-2 in 40th District action. GRC lost two players to transfer last year. One went to Montgomery County and the other went to Paris. Interesting that 40391 has sharpened his ax more as the Paris game approaches.
