Just got in from the game. Big reunion of lots of former players. It was so good to talk to them. GRC retired Preston Knowles jersey before the game tonight. I have lived here 24 years and I can't ever remember a jersey being retired. What a honor for him.

GRC led the whole game. We jumped out to a lead and at the end of the 1st Q it was 20-6. #5 for MS started hitting his 3's and at the half it was 32-28.At the end of 3rd, 50-42 and final score 67-57. MS is a well coached team and they play hard.

James Cornelius was a beast on the boards tonight. Anderson had a hot hand tonight. One of the highlight of the game was when Ryan Cooper went WAY up and blocked a shot pinning it on the backboard. He was called for goal tending. To see Ryan get up like that was amazing. Great game to attend.

Let's see how Cooper gets up the next 3 games, MS had 1 player and again we win and its happy as can be. Not one word about how Paris stomped us....but oh, they can play and we can't against talent. Preston is way past due to retire a jersey and should have been done long ago. He made himself into a ball player not GRC. As I watched in the stands and looked around and see that our program is falling to the dumps after seeing all the older guys in the gym from years back. All I can do is SMH....the days of good ball are gone. Cornelius and Andersen is all we have.

James had several points from assists by his teammates. Good team ball. Jyles was in a zone tonight. Congrats to both of these young men on their points but this was a team win tonight good defense and team ball. I would love to know how many rebounds James Cornelius had tonight. He was a beast on the board.

Where is Knowles now? Loved watching him play at Clark and UofL.

Playing ball in Italy. He came in just for this tonight. Will be going back to Italy to finish this season.

GRC

Anderson - 27 points

Cornelius - 22 points, 15 rebounds

Menchen - 6 points

Jenkins - 4 points

Cooper - 3 points

Israel - 2 points

Philpot - 2 points

Johnson - 1 point

Madison Southern

Gabbard - 16 points

Miller - 13 points

Short - 12 points

Jefferson - 7 points

Sargent - 6 points

Burns - 3 points

It's worth noting one of Southern's starters and most consistent players went out of the game with an injury early in the game. I think they did wel with a tie ball game in the 3rd considering the loss.

Thanks for posting the rebounds. I knew he was crashing the boards and had some really impressive rebounds.

Such a cheerful and optimistic post. Gives me goose pumps all over just thinking what a great place GRC must be to send kids today.
