  1. A slow whistle and 6 yards from maybe 45-0 and three peat. Great run. Defense wins championships.
  2. CovCath has 1. Last year.7-1
  3. I took the Colonels but know this could go big either way or to the last play. Both good enough that stuff can happen. Gottaluvfootball. Go Colonels!
  4. This could go anywhere from one sided both ways to a close one. 15-17 year olds playing football on a big stage can go lots of ways. Especially since both can be dominant.
  5. You’ve never seen a team take a week of practice for a weak opponent and use that time to build plays not seen on film for future use?
  6. Not familiar with FD offensive and defensive lines. If they are really good, it’s a close game. Otherwise CCH by 14. Unforced errors can also change everything for any team of course.
  7. Mayer was as good as advertised, but for me their QB was the their best player tonight. Without him, they don't win by 28 IMO. He was terrific. Also don't underestimate the CovCath kicker. Kicking the ball in the end zone on BG is a huge weapon as it takes field position away from BG if not a bigger gain. For the Purples, I was proud of their effort. I didn't love the play calling but it's easy to armchair QB and they went with their strengths. But as many know the better strategy was to pass against CovCath. BG didn't do that until it was too late. But I am still proud of my team and excellent year overall. I want to wish the Colonels good luck next week and hope they win it all! Adding the kicker kicking into the end zone and being accurate overall is a weapon. Add to the others they are tough. 43-1 has a lot to with that defense.
  8. Not sure about the other teams, but other than LexCath, most of the points scored against CCH were on the second/third string.
  9. I make that 23 straight at home? Last loss Scott County in 2016?
  10. Probably just going with home field advantage. Tates Creek.
  11. What key players are returning for Conner next year?
  12. Colonels on a 41-1 run. Keep rolling.
  13. Looked like if Conner hadn’t had so many penalties they might have won by 3 TDS. They also got the ball at midfield at least three times on kick offs. That field position could have been the difference in this close game.
  14. Didn’t think Frost could play after regular season for varsity. That prevents any Championship Game. It is usually just considered the best record, especially if undefeated.
  15. Boone is kind of the inner city school in Boone County. Older housing older commercial older industrial areas. Got to think it’s lower income compared to Ryle and Cooper and even Conner now (was more agricultural area back in the day?) And kids leave the area to play at the other schools. Hopefully they rebuild something and equalize with the other schools somewhat.
