Henry Clay 49 Campbell County 28
NKYSportsFreak replied to Colonels_Wear_Blue's topic in KY Football (High School)
^ They should have been better than what they were from a record standpoint, nobody would dispute that. But, when you take bodies away, you take depth away. A team can only survive so many personnel options before it is insurmountable. That said, it's not like all these players were gone through the first four weeks, yet the Camels were no better then than they were when they lost those players later in the year from a record standpoint. Coaches would never make excuses, but reality is reality... -

Watching the game in the stands, it appeared that there were more Camels on crutches than active participants. Though I wish for I4C's sake, that the Camels look at this just as he said, the reality is when you don't have the horses to run the race, it is virtually impossible to to make believe you do. Good luck to both teams and avoid injuries. -

This used to be a decent rivalry. Now it's a sad to see the Camels regress. You can't use injury or graduation as excuse. Every year we see teams carry on through these issues. For Highlands to have a bad year, you think it's just a freak bump in the road. When the Camels have a bad year, your fears of "here we go again" pops up in the fan base, parents and the students. -

Sorry that the Camels played so well, it must be disturbing that there is nothing to complain about. Camels have the Breds respect, I guess that means more..... -

^ What does that mean based on the post quoted????? Please clarify. -
Kyle has indeed been great on a great pitching staff. Beck's stats are very solid with a 3-2 record, 24 K's, 1 SV, and 2.53 ERA. Add Becker to the other three starters and you have an awesome staff. Johnny Eblin 7-1 record, 30 K's, 1.95 ERA (3-0 against the 10th) Josh Reynolds 5-1 record, 38 K's, 2.77 ERA

With a staff ERA of 2.35, it's not pitching for CC. -

It's a fair question, but it's no different than naming the kid who fumbles or the kid who was whistled for the technical. -

Three errors guys! Fielding E: Mcginnis, Langguth 2. Also, Becker only allowed 5 hits in his 7 inning shutout with CCH only having 3 LOB for the game, compared to 10 hits and 8 LOB for the Camels. Camels had four doubles, so this was more about what the Camels did than what CCH didn't. Nice win for the Camels, but this game has no negative impact on the Colonels. The Colonels are 12-2 and are one of the states top teams. Hopefully this spurs both teams on to an even better year! -

Congrats to Jason Goe, brother of Morehead State's Aaron Goe. Jason threw five innings, striking out six batters, to earn his first win of the season. -

I saw a double header in the Fall HS league the last weekend of the season. Granted, that league does not bring the best talent with so many other options and sports for the players. But I saw Campbell County play and beat two very good teams that were both loaded with HS starters. I have to admit, the Camels that I saw in that two games was an entirely different team than the two games I saw them play against Scott last year. I know last years Camels team was made up with 12 Juniors. Could it be that team figured it out? If I recall the 10th region rankings, they were no better than 12-13 in the preseason rankings in their own Region. Any Camels fans with insights?
