  1. In everyone of these debates, nobody is even familiar with Edd Roush. Not just one of the best Reds of all-time, but one of the greatest baseball players of all-time. His 12 year .337 average is #2 for the Red's - AHEAD of every single player listed on all of the above lists. His contemporaries said he was well ahead of his time, and his arm from the outfield is considered one of the greatest of all-time. After leading the league in hitting, and regardless of whether the 1919 World Series was considered a fix, it was Roush's defense that TOOK the World Series for the Reds.
  2. I just wanted to bring this thread back up, because it was so enjoyable......
  3. ^ It's only a debate if you are a Ravens fan. Take Bengals fans out of the mix, no one outside of these two cities is not saying it was the wrong call. This is TODAY'S NFL. Hall got called for a ticky-tack call in the first half that wold not have been called 5 years ago. But, today it is a different game. It is hands off the guy you are going to kill........
  4. ^ Dalton only had one INT As much as Andy drives us all nuts,he only has 4 INT's this season. I have not looked, but it sure seems like he had more than 4 at the mid-way point of his first three seasons. So, this is a much more "controlled" Dalton than years past. He has 4 INT's coming in three games, and the Bengals have not lost any of those three games. So, it can be argued that Andy is not the problem this year.
  5. Read my posts, and you will see it is NOT a rant, but a response to all the spewing of the Raven's fans. Where in any of my posts did I claim the Bengals were good???????????????
  6. Iverson has to be on my list. Point Guard, thus you can't go qualifying it by saying a guy scored, but didn't pass or vice versa. Iverson has the stigma of being a ball-hog, a chucker and having tunnel vision. It’s all true. However, during his prime, he took teams squarely on his back and lifted them higher. AI is both loved and hated, but how many other players had his heart to play the game? There aren’t many. And who could ever forget this? Iverson was special from the start. Did he have handles? Youtube him breaking the ankles of greatest player in the history of the game when MJ shooed away AI's defender so MJ could lock down AI. AI was ahead of his time and he would be considered the best PG in the league if he played today. PG's today are scorers, none today are better than when AI played. He led the league in steals for three years, so he did play defense. And even though he was a scorer, he had the ball in his hands to run every play on offense, that makes him the Point Guard. Had the Sixers never had AI, they would have been perennial last place fodder. Put AI in the line-up, and he carried a team all by himself to the NBA finals.
  7. I agree completely. Teams do spread on the goal line for the QB sneak, but it's High School teams. The Bengals proved it can work at the Pro level as well.
  8. I am hopeful that the ground opens up and swallows the Steelers all the way to Hade's! I won't miss them one bit...
  9. It was more barbs at the Raven fans who LOVE to make the Bungle's jokes. Well, that's fine, it can be the Bungles all they want, but how gawd awful must the Ravens be if that is the case....
  10. ^ I wasn't replying to Plant's comments. I do not agree at all that the Bengals focus should be on making Sanu the #1 option. That's ridiculous. Sanu has stepped up, and that came from another year of NFL maturity. We have no idea, but MAYBE, when healthy, Jones still might prove to be better. Then, the Bengals have the dilemma of trying to keep all three.
  11. The only receiver the Bengals have is Sanu. The Bengals are missing a heck of a lot more than AJ on offense, so I still am not buying that that that offense is nothing more than a result of their inferior competition. I give the Bengals offense a lot more credit for today with all that they are missing against a Defense on paper better than the Ravens offense faced opposite them.
  12. The explosive offense has beat the #30, #32, #24, #20 & #18 defenses in the league. I guess you should be explosive against that kind of competition.
  13. The Ravens offense has not played against anyone. Granted, I know the more I discredit the Ravens, then I take away from this win. But, the Ravens were not a juggernaut, they just had a favorable schedule.
  14. I stand corrected, but I still contend they WERE the most overrated 2 loss team in the league. They have five wins, only one against a team with a winning record, thus, I stand by my assertion of the Ravens. Or, let the Ravens fans say that is wrong and that the Bengals are just better than them. I'm fine either way!
  15. ^ But with toes, it generally means a season is done. I do believe the Bengals are going to miss AJ off and on for the rest of the season. Vontaze is showing dings every game as well.
  16. For all those Ravens fans who LOVE to throw out the BUNGLES term. There is only ONE answer, 1. Were the Ravens the most overrated 1 loss team in the NFL and their only excuse for having one loss is because they have played a cupcake schedule, thus making the Ravens the laughing stock of the NFL because they are OWNED by the Cincinnati BUNGLES? 2. Or, is the AFC North the most dominant division in Football, and the Ravens are a true Super Bowl contender, yet the BENGALS are one of the top three elite teams in the AFC?. Our Ravens faithful sure take um-bridge every opportunity they can to blast the Red Rifle, but... Flacco 17/34 195 43.1-QBR or Dalton 21-28 266 89.3-QBR Bengals own those ugly Black Crows....
  17. Congrats to the Camel ladies in both Soccer and Volleyball. Two great runs, keep it going ladies.
  18. From that article: Barkley was asked about a rumor that Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was getting criticism from his black teammates for not being, quote, “black enough.” Barkley went on a long monologue on the subject: ”Unfortunately, as I tell my white friends, we as black people, we’re never going to be successful, not because of you white people, but because of other black people. When you’re black, you have to deal with so much crap in your life from other black people. It’s a dirty, dark secret; I’m glad it’s coming out.”
  19. In the Percy Harvin thread, I asked for my African American friends opinion on the comment on Wilson not being "Black Enough". Now I am curious on opinions from Barkley. Barkley was asked about a rumor that Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was getting criticism from his black teammates for not being, quote, “black enough.” Barkley went on a long monologue on the subject: ”Unfortunately, as I tell my white friends, we as black people, we’re never going to be successful, not because of you white people, but because of other black people. When you’re black, you have to deal with so much crap in your life from other black people. It’s a dirty, dark secret; I’m glad it’s coming out.”
  20. This is why America is soft. We limit our victories, paint the losers as victims and suck all the joy out of winning in the name of some kind of imaginary fairness that doesn't exist in the real world. Mamas, if you don't want your precious snowflakes to be on the business end of a butt kicking once in a while, don't sign them up for competitive sports. Getting your butt kicked is part of life. Learn from it, grow from it. Then , get over it.
  21. His health looks incredible right now. I think he plays next season as well (win or loss in Super Bowl). I'm not sure he does not have 2 more left in the tank.
