  1. Pandas come back from down 0-2 to win the annual sold-out Playing for a Purpose match at Thomas More College. I'm sure if St. Henry would have won, it wouldn't have gone a week with no one posting the score.
  2. Even at full health, NCC isn't in the same league as NDA...NDA is 10-0 in the last 10 meetings vs NCC and has outscored NCC 34-7 in those 10 matches. It's not even close.
  3. You are both wrong on the 70% claim... the OP said: Since the match is 80 minutes, that would be 87.5% of the match
  4. Overlooked last week...Pandas win 3-1 *at* Sacred Heart, currently #2 in the State. For everyone counting NDA down or maybe out this year, this is your wake-up call. With upcoming matches against Mercy (home) and later, Henry Clay (away) NDA could very well be the undisputed #2 team in the State behind Assumption.
  5. interesting - Highlands def NCC in Bluegrass Games just a few weeks ago
  6. Soldier field is a dump - looks like a space ship landed inside the Roman Coliseum. Bad move. And Lambeau is the Mecca, a unique experience...but Camp Randall is pretty cool when it gets rockin', should also have been kept on campus. Is this about a neutral site? as in that's the only way they could get a deal done?
  7. Completely disagree. Knees get torn up just as much in softball and volleyball. Playing three sports is not how you get better in the one sport you like/are great at. I'm so tired of the "when I grew up..." observations. Times are different now and athletes have way more opportunities to specialize if they so choose. It's better to be great in one sport than good in three if you want to play in college.
  8. Same here - no problem with article or the way it was written. You absolutely did your job. Just curious that the coach would bring it up. I can't think of a preseason preview in any sport that I've read where a coach would talk about another team, and if they did they were usually heaping massive praise on them. "ND is in Highlands coaching heads already or should I say continuously" is a pretty accurate comment by frankdracman23.
  9. It what has provided an annual laugh, here's the KVCA pre-season state poll. I think they have the top 5 teams correct, although not sure about the order. How Beechwood can be 6th in the State poll but 4th in it's own Region in the same poll is mind-numbing (I believe the latter is more accurate) Both polls at the link below. Assumption is simply loaded with talent this year. 1 Assumption (21) 2 Sacred Heart (1) 3 Mercy Academy 4 Henry Clay 5 Notre Dame 6 Beechwood 7 North Oldham 8 Greenwood 9 St. Henry District 10 Oldham County 11 Paul Laurence Dunbar 12 McCracken County 13 Male 14 Presentation 15 DuPont Manual 16 Cooper 17 Ryle 18 Tates Creek 19 Apollo 20 Christian Academy-Louisville 21 Eastern 22 Central Hardin 23 West Jessamine 24 Holy Cross (Louisville) 25 Butler Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association
  10. I think it's...well, curious... that in a soft-hitting season preview by the hometown sports blogger that a coach would take the time to mention other teams, other players, and parents... all in a slightly negative light.
  11. Like I said...congrats to Beechwood. A sign of depth in the 9th? And I'll buy the Camels as the main contender to Scott in the 10th.
  12. The Varsity pools have been posted BGSG volleyball is always a surprise since it's so early in the season...always tough to pick a winner. Since none of the top teams in the state participate, the field is a little more wide open that other tournaments. I like the usual suspects - Ryle, Cooper, NCC, or Tates Creek to take it all. But I'd take it with a grain of salt - it's early and overall the competition level isn't that great - especially in opening pool play.
  13. 1. What does Highlands need to do to improve in 2017? win more games, go deeper into playoffs 2. What do they need to keep doing to be successful? see #1 It's all about De-fense. Need to be able to make timely stops and get the D off the field. Didn't happen much last season.
  14. yes it does...Terry's burger with everything plus truffles and brie cheese.
  15. Terry's Turf Club is my #1 and I think Zips is terribly.. o v e r...r a t e d...(clap)(clap)(clap-clap-clap)
  16. (KHSAA State Softball Tournament Round 1) Down 3-1, Pandas erupt for 7 in T6, only to see Boyle get 4 in B6 to make it 8-7 Pandas heading to 7th, where NDA plates 8 in T7 for the blowout win in an error filled game. Pandas go from playing late Thurs to early Fri in winners bracket.
  17. I could just type Notre Dame and stop...but First the history..Notre Dame currently owns the 9th region. 9 out of the last 10, including the last 6 in a row. It's very easy to say NDA again in 2017. Why not? But I do think NDA will see a real challenge from a talented St. Henry team. and possibly Cooper. I'd put NCC 4th. I'm sure NCC will have a good team, but NDA's & St. Henry's seasons would both have to implode for them to have a shot. For everyone else in the 9th, measuring success is all relative. Maybe it's winning 15 games, or maybe it's making it out of Districts. I don't know where your bar is set. The separation between NDA & St. Henry, and the rest of the region, is great. Of course, just like in previous years, injuries and depth always seem to be a factor as well. So in summary... NDA wins Region Wouldn't be surprised if St. Henry did Cooper is a longshot. A lot would have to happen for anyone else to have a shot. Tobergte (St. Henry) is POY
  18. NDA 2-0 vs Dixie this year, but 1st meeting was a million days ago, and last meeting went to extras. What's the old saying about beating a team 3 times in a season? Well, I don't believe in sayings...I do believe in momentum...Pandas advance.
  19. Anything that s l o w s you down and makes you spread out your attractions, and thus lengthens your stay, is inherently inefficient. Disney is a casino, the longer you stay in the park and on the grounds, the more money they can take from you. Thus the FP+ speedbumps that limit you from selecting all the main attractions on 1 day. and actually, I'm quite special. Just ask me.
  20. ^^^THIS. Finally, a fellow efficient ear head who knew how to work the old system. I did the same thing may times.
  21. I'm 100% sure about my post.... you may want to look into why your post is making you look like you haven't ever been to Disney under the FP+ system.
  22. well, well... let's see what I posted to earn the "completely false" rating. Let's do a little fact-checking..... Thank-you for proving my point. 2 months before you go, you have to decide exactly what rides and at what times you will have to go on them. No more day-of decisions, no more freedom. It's unnecessary over-planning. that was how you could maximize the system and be more efficient. More on how that worked later. The old system didn't limit you either. You could make as many as you wanted all day long, if you knew how the system worked. Because I love trying to walk around a family of 8 shuffling their feet in the middle of the walk-way because they all have their heads buried in their phones. Now, for the main event ^^^^^^^^^^^C O M P L E T E L Y^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^FALSE^^^^^^^^^^ Yes you could, we did it every trip!! This is how we could be so efficient. The fast pass window was 50 minutes. You mean you can't get from 1 end of the park to the other in 50 minutes?? And the trick was, as soon as your FP time started, you could go FP another ride. Which means it worked like this... enter park>>> FP Soaring ride other rides on stand-by as soon as FP for Soaring begins, FP Test Track return to ride Soaring on FP repeat all day long with next major ride You then filled in your schedule based on your FP times. It worked great! You gave all the tickets to one person and they hustled across the park and took care of everyone while they were riding another (minor) attraction. really? Tell me...can you realistically ride Soaring and Test Track on the same day with the new FP system? How about Rock n Roller Coaster and Great Movie Ride? Because you could with the old system. Don't you see what this is designed to do?? It is purposely making you less efficient to make you stay longer and spend more money. That's the thing - I don't need a system to plan my trips, I was awesome at it! We knew when to go and we knew how to play the FP system. We were so efficient we could hit all the parks and all the attractions in half the time it takes "regular" park visitors. I feel bad for people like you. You believe FP+ is this great system...when it is actually a level of control, designed to bleed you dry and limit your choices and freedom. And the sad part is, you don't see it. Putting it on your phone distracts you from what really is going on.
  23. My best advice to give anyone is to not go and go somewhere else instead. We stopped going once they completely ruined the experience by changing the way FastPass works. You used to be able to easily hit all the major rides in a single park in a day. No more. Now you are limited in the number of major rides you can choose per day. The changes are obviously designed to keep you staying in their hotels and in their parks longer. But the changes also force you to completely plan every minute of every day of your stay, ruining any spontaneity or last-minute changes due to weather, etc. You will spend your whole trip trying to stay on track with your FastPass schedule instead of enjoying your vacation.
  24. shocked it was picked. what a dump. At 42 years old, and last major renovation 20 years ago, would it set record for oldest arena to host games?
