  1. Actually it's the All-A that's not relevant....
  2. Just to be clear, no one associated with the school or program.
  3. only 1 hour time difference from NKY to Lima Peru. More likely travel fatigue vs actual time-zone "lag"
  4. Gotta work tonight, but have obviously made the trip before. Rough start for Lady Bears vs Lewis.
  5. not just a national team, THE national team. 1 of only 12 picked to represent the USA. Morgan Hentz
  6. 25-20, 25-13, 25-20. Beechwood lived up to it's coaches poll ranking, and I'm done believing the hype about Highlands. If the expectation for Highlands is that they are "built to last" and that this is indeed the year they turn the corner with a team led by 7 seniors, then I think you need to be able to at least win 1 set against a good team like Beechwood.
  7. Scott is miles ahead of every other 10th Region team and will have no problem returning to State. Book your rooms now.
  8. Soccer last 5 seasons vs ND: HHS 2-9 NCC 0-8 There a routine beating going on, you just have the wrong schools.
  9. Apparently these "divisions" cut across District and Regional lines, further complicating matters. To be honest, I don't see the point of having a conference with Divisions since teams seem to schedule opponents in all 3 Divisions anyway. In fact, it looks like the majority of schools schedule teams from all 3 divisions. It still doesn't explain why Highlands and NCC don't play ND in volleyball, but do in soccer, basketball, and softball.
  10. I'll take Villa 2 Cooper 1 Conner 1 Scott 1 Ryle 3 HC 1 Newport Central 2 SK 2 Notre Dame 2 Campbell Co 1 Brossart 1 Highlands 1
  11. Season starts off with a bang - 10th Region Champ Scott at 9th Region Champ Notre Dame on Tue 8/18. Is this the best chance in years for a 10th Region team to beat ND? Will ND be at full strength? If not, who has the edge? Which team has a deeper bench?
  12. I can't find a more competitive match between higher ranked teams. MND and NDA both play Ursuline. Maybe MND is just that good.
  13. I think a good test happens soon when Mount Notre Dame and Notre Dame Academy meet. MND - #1 in Ohio, #13 in nation (MaxPreps) NDA - #2 in KY, #12 in nation (MaxPreps) Likely the biggest match of the year in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area.
  14. Check ndavolleyball.com. ND at Holmes Wed Oct 7 2015. I don't think the KHSAA scoreboard has been updated yet, and I often find it inaccurate. I prefer to go straight to the schools themselves for an accurate schedule.
  15. pretty sure ND and Holmes are in the same District and play every year.
  16. Not this again. Where is this mythical conference? Are there standings? Is there a conference schedule? Conference champion? A website with all the info? I'm not buying it. Sounds like a convenient excuse to duck a tough game. "conference schedule" doesn't stop them from playing each other in Soccer/Basketball/Softball...
  17. My point is, not every team is rebuilding - for many, this is the year to do something because they will lose a lot next year. And my bold prediction is - Highlands and Boone County will beat some teams this year that they aren't "supposed" to beat.
  18. Scott has never beaten ND, and I don't see it happening this year. Before 2012, ND and Scott were in the same region. Region 10 was formed in 2003, but Scott didn't move there until 2012, replacing Newport Central who was moved to the 9th. I saw on website that Newport Central is the only team ever from the 10th to beat ND, and they only did it once in a tournament years ago. But I will give kudos to Scott and Campbell County for continuing to schedule ND even though they are in a different region. And will give a big thumbs-down to Highlands and Newport Central for NOT scheduling ND, even though they are in the same region, and play each other in every other sport across the board.
  19. Scott has more than that. Right - so who is going to get them the ball? and doesn't include the biggest piece of that core, who bolted for a different school As you would say..wrong. Teams like Scott, Ryle, St. Henry, Bishop Brossart, Notre Dame, Highlands, Pendelton County, and Boone County are full of Seniors and built to win now.
  20. Scott should be about 10 spots higher. Cooper should be about 10 spots lower - who's setting? PLD should be about 10 spots lower - they graduated too much Beechwood shouldn't be in Top 25 Highlands or Boone County probably should be.
  21. I would say SK is off to a rocky start. Made it to Flight 3 or "Bronze" bracket at Bluegrass games, which isn't too terrible, but then lost first match to Boone County, the kind of team they are going to have to beat to have success. Look at it this way - 1/3 of SK's matches they have no chance, 1/3 they should win easy. It's that final 1/3 that will determine their season, those winnable matches against similar opponents - like Boone Co, Highlands, Campbell Co, Conner.
  22. I think your top 3 are all in District 37
  23. I think from a NKY perspective, you have to be pretty happy with the finishes of the teams: Gold Bracket - Bwood, Ryle, Cooper, Newport Central Silver Bracket - Scott, Brossart Bronze Bracket - Camp Co, Simon Kenton, Boone Co. It's worth noting there were 5 more brackets below Bronze. Louisville, Lexington, NKY all strong - the rest of the State, not as much.
  24. Updates: Bottom half of Championship bracket: Henry Clay sweeps Newport Central Catholic 2-0. 21-15, 21-10. Henry Clay sweeps Cooper 2-0. 21-15, 21-13. Top Half: Allen Central sweeps Beechwood 2-0. 21-17, 21-18. Ryle defeated Allen Central. Championship: Henry Clay defeated Ryle
