They beat Male who beat Trinity twice in ‘13 and haven’t played X since 04 finals.My main point is there is no reason to claim SC is hype instead of the being a respectable opponent with a solid chance to win the game. SC has been to the finals twice since the last time X went. If they don’t hurt themselves and get behind the chains we will be just fine.

Nothing about Scott County in the past decade has been “hype”. They have won a title more recently than X. Obviously penetration disrupts running teams, in other news water is wet. Scott has athletes to win this game I believe they match up well with X and have a great chance to win

Just a clarification question, in what way does FD have more talent than Scott County ?? SC has better backs, is way better up front and in the secondary, and the two quarterbacks are pretty even with Davis being a much better thrower. Receiver Covington as good as any WR in state. As far as Coach Landis goes, anybody bashing his morals in coaching is completely wrong. The guy has done a great job of developing young men for a very long time at Georgetown College before Eastern and UK. If you have ever met him in person or seen him coach you know he is a first class guy who coaches with extreme intensity every game. With that being said, SC’s varsity offense scored on every single one of their 8 possessions before putting the JV in in the last matchup, if the Broncos have a chance to stay in it that have to make major changes on defense to slow down SC. They also only scored one touchdown on SC’s varsity defense, the other 14 points came from a KOR and a score against SC’s 2nd team defense. If Scott County plays anywhere close to as good as they have been playing since the Ohio losses, I doubt they have any trouble getting out of this one.

Apparently an altercation with Dunbar coach/administration and something to do with an ineligible player playing. Dude is a hell of a coach and has done a great job at Douglass. He is the main reason they have been better than everyone else in Lexington this year. It all has to do with coaching.

This is a joke. 6 state championships too much as it is. Please don’t let this happen it will water down an already average HS football state.

Scott County's Quarterback Josh Davis could not be a more perfect fit to balance out their high powered running attack. As a 3 year starter, he is 31-6 (31-2 against KY foes), has a 65% completion rating, throwing for 3625 yards and 45TDs, with only 6 INTs. He has 17 career rushing touchdowns as well. His senior year has been the most impressive, as Josh has lead the Cardinals to a 9-2 record through the 1st round of the playoffs, completing 74% percent of his passes for 1174 yards, 16 TDs, 2 INTs, with 2 rushing touchdowns as well. Under his command the Scott County offense has averaged 45 points per contest in the last 3 years. This kid is the definition of efficient. He can hurt you first and foremost with his legs, pulling the ball on Belly-keeps and running AWAY from defenders. He is incredibly accurate in the 1 step and 3 step passing game which SC takes advantage of with talented single receiver Glenn Covington when they get an overloaded box or 1v1 coverage. He also has the ability to throw over top of the defense on play-action as well as drop back passes. To me, Josh is the best Quarterback I have seen at SC in the Jim McKee Era. I have watched 8 of their 11 games this year and many times they did looked more balanced with run/pass than run heavy. I believe that with the right opportunity, he could fit nicely into a mid-level FCS program, but may end up being an absolute steal for any program lower than FCS. I wish Josh and SC continued success in their playoff route which seems to lead to playing either Male or St. X away in the semifinals before potentially getting a chance at T at Kroger field. SC has shown that they can go to Louisville and win before, and I believe they have a great chance this year as well. Go Cards!
