Our hearts go out to his wife Jennifer and his family. He had been ill for some time. He was just 57 years old. Chris began his career coaching football and teaching social studies at Scott County in the fall of ‘89 under Clyde Mcconnaughhay. He was the head coach in 1996. From 1999 to 2017 Chris was an assistant for the Cardinals. He had 7 undefeated seasons as the freshmen Head Coach, and was the eyes in the sky in the press box for Coach McKee during that time. Coach Hatfield was an excellent baseball umpire and loved to play the horses. He was known for his intelligence and witty humor. I was especially fond of him. He was originally from Belfry. We are hurting today with the loss of our great friend.

Scott County 29 Highlands 23

#5 in white was the fastest player on the field last night - IMO -
Scott County 29 Highlands 23

Highlands does not have a ton speed, and did not have the edge on speed last night. If calls are being mentioned, the momentum of the intercepter on the botched FG clearly took him into the endzone as he caught the ball on the 1.5 yard line. I thought 2 PI’s on SC were extremely questionable as well. -

Been a lot of places. I am not sure there is a better home environment in Kentucky than the one I saw at Highlands tonight. Hat tip to the Birds and the Bird faithful. Back to Georgetown! -
Awesome. Going to be a real nice player.

For the record Scott Co. does not and has never run the option -

Douglass was exponentially more talented than Scott County in 2018. More talented than Cov Cath in 2019. More talented than Owensboro in 2020. More talented than South Warren last year. Even if they win it this year, it has been very amusing. 😆 -

If you think that one is nice, wait until you see what the Cards have coming in 2024... -
Don’t they have a young skill player with some offers maybe?
-
Interesting recent matchup history 2012 - Birds beat the Cards 60-37 at Highlands (Zach Harris was unreal in this game, rushed for over 300 yards) 2016 - Cards beat Birds 42-33 at Highlands (SC 475 rushing yards) 2017 - Cards beat birds 71-20 at home and rushed for 423 2018- Cards beat Birds 28-7 at Highlands, the game was called at half (lightning) But…. Cards must handle Cooper first. Their QB can sling it around and their RB looked somewhat explosive to me when I watched them.

Yes, Trinity in 2011 I believe. Beat Scott Co. in finals 62-21.
-
The old adage “that’s why they play the game” remains true. Excited for some good matchups against NKY, hopefully the next 2 weeks.
-
Like who? Douglass has 3 skill guys better than Noon if not 4 or 5.
-
No they do not have a chance whatsoever. Cov Cath overall skill speed way down and Highlands does not match up physically in any of the 22 positions.

They have 13 players with Division 1 offers on their roster. The only thing we have ever seen that compares is 2012 Trinity. Will take a perfect night for someone in 5A to beat them -

Maybe, 2025 and 2027 classes are dominated by SC. -
Cards move to 7-1. Ballard Bruins heading into Georgetown next week.
