Graves only was missing 1 player due to football. They had a another player that didnt play decide to play late. The big guy didn't do much he is fighting injury right now.

Lovelace should be free to talk to McCracken after Friday's night when Christian losses to Graves. That's kind of ironic McCracken lost to Graves also...

As MCMustangs stated it would be interesting to see what Morris could do at McCracken. I think this job would generate some big names interested. The biggest name would be Morris but with him being AD and coach not sure if McCracken would match his salary, if he was interested?? I don't see Garrett hiring a coach without any head coaching experience. Do they have a quality coach on staff now that would be a possible candidate? I think Rogers is a great coach but would he leave Tilghman after 1 year? Could this possibly be a landing spot to bring Lovelace back to the area?

Hunter for Calloway is 6'7" but he isn't a post threat. He likes to stand at the arch and shoot the 3 ball.

I've heard of several teams having 6'4" guys but does any team have size or a true big man this year? With Rentfro and Arnett graduating who are the big men in the region? Graves has 6'10" Vogt but do they have any size to help him out? Does anyone else in the region have anyone close to his size?

After tryouts and new roster posted online, Eamon Hannan is not playing this year. Big lose to a inexperienced Eagle squad. So as stated before it will be Smith and the rest will be getting their first real taste of varsity. For the first time in several years Graves doesn't have any player in the preseason top 10 for the region. We will get to see how good Frick is as he takes the reigns.

With 7 seniors, including transfer Barnard from Marshall, I would have to say Graves should be one of the top teams in region 1. This bunch here could be really good and the addition of Barnard gives them the inside player the needed. Can the new coach lead them to Diddle?

Even with the open try out yesterday, they started at 6:00 am so didn't bring many new faces out for Graves. Not sure if they will have any additions. It will be interesting to see who will be in their starting 5 with only 1 contributor returning form last year.

I noticed on a preview for Mayfield that several names were mentioned but Kennemore wasn't?? Is he not playing basketball this year? Mayfield Head Coach: Chris Guhy District: 3rd Record last year: 13-16 (9-14*) Summary: Mayfield lost four senior from a team that won 13 games last season. They do however return their leading scorer from last season 6’3” senior Marshall Bacon, a slasher that is one of the top scorers in the region. They also return another senior in guard/forward Nick Felts. Coach Guhy also expects a trio of juniors and two sophomores to contribute as well. The juniors are 6’2” Zach Tyler, 5’8” Noel Roland and 6’0” Artie Kirby. The sophomores are 5’8” Trajon Bright and 6’1” Anton Lumson, a skilled wing. Coach Guhy will be keeping his guys local for tournaments; they’ll play at Paducah Tilghman before Christmas and at Hickman County after Christmas. They also have a scheduled out of region game against Webster County. Mayfield has an inexperienced and undersized team coming into the season, but Coach Guhy is excited about his team and really likes his guard play. He expects his team to compete for a district title as well as an All ‘A’ Classic tournament title, although he admits Murray is the favorite to represent the 1st region in Frankfort.

Not sure who it will be or if any will make it or even make a difference but could give them some depth. I've heard that Hannan is not playing but I've seen him listed on rosters and on others previews. If he plays he will be the top player on the team and should be in the top 10 in the region.

I found this on prephoopskentucky.com: Graves County Head Coach: Joshua Frick District: 3rd Record last year: 27-5 (14-3*) Summary: The Eagles lost 6 seniors from a year ago including their top two players Peyton Puckett and Jake Williams. They return one starter in Senior Guard Andrew Smith. They return two other seniors in Eamon Hannan, a top baseball player, and 6’5” Forward Myles Avent. They have four junior that Coach Frick will county on to play, Hunter Grant, Jordan Jones, Lucas Murphey and Christian Gough. They’ll feature one of the top sophomores in the state with 6’10” Center Chris Vogt, who already has offers from Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State and Tulsa. They will play two other sophomores in Point Guard Brady Wetherington and Jace Wiggins. Graves County will host their own tournament before Christmas and travel to Martin, Tennessee for another tournament after Christmas. They also play in the Marshall County Hoopfest and have out of region games schedules against Ohio County and Hopkinsville. Coach Frick says although his schedule is difficulty, he thinks it’ll pay off come late February and March. Getting better every day will be the mantra for Graves County this season. Coach Frick thinks it wouldn’t be wise for teams to count them out this season and believes his team will be a tough out around postseason tournament time.

With a new coach and all but 1 player with any varsity experience gone, this could be a rebuilding year for Graves. They do return Andrew Smith which is a good ball player and should finally get his time to shine. They also have incoming sophomore 6'9" Chris Vogt that should be hard for most teams to match up with. I don't think Hannan is going to play basketball this year but he would for sure help them. Other than those 2 not real sure who will fill out the rest of their starting line ups. They did have a good JV team last year but not much varsity experience returning. They seem to also be competitive in region 1 but this year probably wont be a favorite.

The Mayfield vs Fulton City game might be more competitive. McCracken won 63-30 last year when Graves had a good team so could get real ugly early. Graves doesn't have anyone that keep up with Jones or Hughes.

My opinion, at Graves he has the chance to stand out more from his peers, where at Mayfield they have more talent and speed than he has and that makes him look average.

Graves is really missing that great senior class that graduated last year. They will miss them in every sport. The QB situation is them trying to find which QB is playing better at that time. The Murray game McKee played better and took most the snaps. Against Tilghman neither played well so they alternated. Right now Graves is extremely one dimensional and if they decide to pass most of the time its going to Gray. They completed 7 passes with 5 to him Friday night, with several of the incomplete passes also being thrown his direction. Tilghman had a great defensive plan, that I'm sure most teams will follow against Graves, stack the box and press the receivers. Crider will still find a hole and score but it is hard to compete without a passing game running a spread offense. Prediction 42-14 Mayfield

Graves is playing a good Murray team. They need a win after last weeks let down. If they cant pull it together they could be 0-4 real quick with Paducah and Mayfield next in line. If they drop 2 of the next 3 their fans will start getting ready for basketball.

I would say that 26 yards passing is correct but they only passed a few times. You would think a school the size of Graves would have another QB ready know that Puckett was graduating last year. It would help if they would name a starter and quit swapping them out.
