  1. Hendo wins the second, too many players who can score, ect. Region played at Union, a gym very familiar to the Colonels. Webster no factor at all, be luckly to beat Union in the district.
  2. It is very hard to play three in a week especially playing the next night after a double overtime game. In the Trigg game Union's #21 Robison sprained his ankle at the beginning of the third quarter, limped around the rest of the game and the two overtimes but came alive and scored the last seven points of the game with two 3's, got fouled on the second one and made the free throw for the 4 point play for the final score. That kid deserves a lot of credit.
  3. I think it is a good hire for Union but I wonder why he would want the job. If he was looking, I think he could have found a better situation. Union is a hard place to coach, really not as much support as one might think. Union would maybe have beaten Fort Campbell this year to finish 4th in the district as the Falcons were down. Union probably the four seed on a year to year average. The cross district is weak with E-Town a possible exception. I too like Boston and wish him luck, he will probably need it. Even a good coach has to have the athletes and support.
  4. No way it will be Sindelar. For Christ's sakes, he's going to Purdue
  5. Does not matter, if the Colonels get off the bus, they win easily.
  6. The young Wildcats win this with ease. Future very bright for FS.
  7. OC wins this with ease. Union does nothing but run the ball, no passing game at all. Union will try to slow the game down but just like Caldwell, OC will open it up and pull away, win by 21 or more. Union not a very disciplined team and has a very weak pass defense which Zuberer and Coach Edge will exploit. The win gives OC the district title and Union 3rd in the district.
  8. Union a little high at #12. A lack of discipline, very predictable, and a weak pass defense makes Union easy to prepare for.
  9. Highlands should conquer this 3a team and give them a good spanking as someone said. Tilghman will lose this game and probably lose next week at Hendereson, then watch out. There are many that think they may run the table in 3a after that. I am one of them. After winning the district they have a week off before the playoffs start to get rested up, ect. The future is bright for Coach Rogers, his wing t and Tilghman.
  10. One thing for sure in this game is that Ryan Bowman will not rush for close to 400 yards as he did last week against Hopkinsville. Not to take anything away from this young man but he will see a different defense this week. This will be Henderson's 5th win in a row against the Maroons.
  11. These two teams have played 72 times since 1932 with the Devils ahead in the series 38-32-2 but BG has owned the Devils 21-7 since 1987. The streak continues.
  12. Will not have much. Caldwell one of the worse D's you will see and even if they get far enough to play DeSales which is doubtful, DeSales D will eat them alive.
  13. Henderson for it's size very weak in sports and a definite underachiever. They dominate thier district in both boys and girls basketball against Webster and Union, both small schools. The girl's coach, Jeff Haile, well respected in state circles, won several region titles in a very weak region 2 for girls basketball but never won the state and he has had several teams capable. The only girl's team from the 2nd to ever win a state title was Union County in 1996. Henderson won baseball state championship in 2000 under the late B.T.Wayne. Even in baseball, the tide seems to be turning, Union County has won 2 of last 4 region 2 titles under Coach Chad Robison, actually a novice in coaching circles. Decent softball team but cannot advance to state. Soccer pretty good. No wrestling team, Union dominates region in that regard. Henderson usually always in the top five schools in size and I would guess has less state sports titles that anyone else in that catergory. Just my opinion.
  14. Same old story for Henderson. They usually have the athletes and talent but have to get by the Hopkinsville schools to get out of the second and that task is very rare.
  15. Joe has had Tilghman's number as well as many others, 12-3 over the period at Mayfield.
  16. Mayfield wins but definetly no running clock.
  17. When the Tigers come up against a very good team, thier points will go down and the other teams points will go up with that defense. Union had 415 yards of offense with 381 of that being on the ground and only 34 in the air. Anybody familiar with Union knows they are going to run the ball.Thier passing game is nil, period. Knowing that, Caldwell still gave up 381 yards rushing. Union stayed with them the first half and that was it. Union plays most of the offensive side on defense too except for Joiner. Hard for two players to be effective in the 2nd half against an air attack like Caldwell. Of course Caldwell is a very good team with a lot of speed, especially in the 2A West. Time will tell wherther they can handle the big boys and I for one suspect that answer to be NO.
  18. Very possible. Union weak and this is a gimmie game for Caldwell. No way Union secondary can cover the Caldwell receivers, too small and inexperienced, or let along stop the run. Caldwell has owned this series in recent years and it will not get any better. Barnes names the score in this one. With that said, look for Union to be very competitive in thier district, no worse than second or third in the rare six team district.
  19. Dads coach the youth leagues and thus you know who are in the key positions. I know there are several good young athletes that excell at other sports who do not play youth football. Maybe the concussion issue has something to do with it, I don't know. I have been told that a couple of kids from Henderson play flag football in an Evansville league. On another subject, Coach Boston is in charge of the D BUT Tony Lewis is in charge and definetly runs the show.
  20. I too like Coach Rogers. He has been very successful and bad luck had he and the Dragons in the district with BG. I feel he will be successful at Tilghman but this will be a tough year starting out. I think he goes 0-6 or 1-5 and then if healthly might run the table.
  21. Mayfield always been the cream in the far West along with Tilghman but the merger has brought a new player to this area and they will be dominant. Already took care of Tilghman and Mayfield is next. Any thoughts? Oops, new poster, did not realize there was already a thread. Anyway, Jack takes care of business. Not much success with Mayfield while at Lone Oak but this is different.
