  1. Thanks for correcting. My memory not too good today .
  2. I cannot find or know of a NCAA school that has ever imposed a self imposed ban on a major sport during the course of the active playing season.
  3. Will stay IF he wants to. Decision is strictly his.
  4. At the beginning of the year, this appeared to be an unlikely result after Henderson lost the four seniors from last years regional winner but Coaching and a reservoir of talented players again prevailed. The little 6th continues to excell in girls basketball and baseball while the 8th continues to control boy's basketball.
  5. Of course he has had some good teams but why if he cannot get the elite players? I says it's coaching. The 2013 championship team had one first round pick, Dieng. Rozier was first round last year, I'm sure he's had more but those are the ones I remember. Mc all Americans that I remember Silva, Behanan, Blackshear - might be more --no one and dones that I remember. More with less than anyone, no doubt.
  6. It would not have mattered, same Coach and the transfers would have stayed in the 8th somewhere anyway.
  7. A free throw away last year from another final four with nobody, one of his best coaching years by far. In the five years, how many Mc All Americans and first round draft choices? More with less regardless of the questions why.
  8. Just a different coaching philosophy maybe, doesn't really believe in the one and dones, and please don't bring up 5 year players with degrees. Believes the NBA should have their own developmental league for freshman, really not friends with Worldwide Wes, believes in a cohesive group that has played together for a couple of years. Really I am just an ole country boy and I really don't know why. One thing I do know, you can move the program from that 7-10 category down to top 5 or 6. It's all fun and games, have a great evening 😂.
  9. I believe the upset had the best chance last year with Henderson but Hoptown won a narrow 5 point victory in a very good game. That Colonel team was loaded and those kids had been playing together since beginning of middle school and earlier. Many believe including me that if the Administration had not insisted on a coaching change and kept Starnes, there would have been a 13 year streak instead of 14. As always in life, politics play a roll in everything we do and sometimes innocent people get the worse end of it, in this case a very good group of young basketball players got the shaft.
  10. Fans are fans. Maybe not like what happened but still support their team. Fans have never left the Cats over the years after all the wrong doings.
  11. The three headed monster in the 8th have won 14 straight region 2 titles and I don't see anyone else for years to come.
  12. Regardless how she plays, The Northern Colonels have basically owned this region for years and 2016 no exception. There probably no better girls coach in the state than Jeff Haile year to year but the State Championship has managed to elude him.
  13. Well, be stunned, he's not going anywhere. Jurich one of the best AD's in the country if not the best - he will figure out a way to keep him - only way he goes is if it is proven that he knew about it and most believe that to be very unlikely. Pitino does more with less than any coach in the country. Can you imagine what he would have done with all those first round draft choices Cal has had. Record is similar w/o them.
  14. The 8th has been the three headed monster for years
  15. North best Webster and Hoptown beat North, both games earlier in the season. I think both Webster and North have improved since those games and agree with Broadcaster that The Tigers have maybe regressed a little. With that said I still think the balanced scoring of Hopkinsville will prevail ( have to slow Eaves down a little, he had big game earlier) and they come out of lower bracket, meet CC in the final and the Southern Colonels win the region.
  16. You hit a homer in your analysis, the Billy Clyde years vs the Tyler Smithhart years
  17. Of course the players deserve a lot of credit which I gave but they have to have direction as to what works. Only thing I know was enough adjustments were made to go 27-8 last half.
  18. Webster outscored Henderson 27-8 in the second half. Newtons adjustments at half by far the difference in this game. It appeared to me that Smithhart got away from his game plan coming back out beginning of the third. He appeared to me he slowed the game down, almost trying to protect the 8 point lead. Edmonson dominated the boards in the second half. Yates hits back to back threes and the Colonels had no answer for Stubbs. The Trojans struggled some in the first half but dominated all aspects in the second. Jon Newton one of best coaches in the second if not the best. After not getting out of the region last year with that senior loaded team, Coach Smithhart has some work to do to get in the conversation with Newton.
  19. Good question, always movement in the 8th. Will be a lot of jockeying around for Tandy this summer.
  20. Bo added a little to his resume tonight with a 49 point performance as Union County upset University Heights 112-107 in double overtime. Bo's last name is Robison, no n in his name.
  21. Big action in Morganfield tonight involving the three top scorers in the region. According to The Gleaner, Union County upset University Heights 112-107 in double overtime. Bo Robison led the Braves with 49 points and the Blazers Kyky Tandy had 41 and sidekick Tray Hollaway had 32. It was senior night for Robison and Jacob Tapp. Jacob had 21 points and sent the game to the second overtime with a three at the buzzer. These two seniors will get to play one more game on their home court as they meet heavy favored Henderson County Tuesday night in the opening game of the 6th district.
  22. I for one understood your post. Don't forget Joe B. didn't recruit him because he was too slow to play at Ky.
  23. To correct some wrong information I had on Bo Robison. Bo has always participated in summer games and all basketball activity with his high school team. He will turn 18 in the spring before graduation.
  24. Teams could have played tonight for the district championship but Webster has a policy of not playing games on Wednesday night but will forego that policy for the girls district championship on 2-24-16.
