  1. Lots of good options this year. Robertson is an obvious choice. McDonald at NCC is always a solid option, his team is consistently among the top programs. Browning is doing a great job at Boone, they are peaking at the right time. Flesch at Cooper is a newer coach doing a great job there, turned the program around in a few years. Goller at Brossart is a solid coach with traditionally a good team, this year is no different. There are others who probably are due some recognition as well. Tough choice but i like Flesch. They were like 8-14 last year and 13-1 this year, that is a great turnaround and they are young so they should be around for a few years.
  2. I heard brossart cancelled the game. I guess they have too many games scheduled since they made it to the all A state final.
  3. Williams (cooper) Seay (scott) Grosser (ncc) In that order
  4. Mostly true flops & hacks...right in front of the AR, scott player and cooper player Chris O'Brien go to the ground, scott player gets up and kicks O'Brien right in the back of the head. Ref talks to AR and pulls straight red. O'Brien returned to the game but then got crushed as he took a shot and he suffered what appeared to be a cut on his nose or a nose bleed, not sure. Cooper coaches elected to play without him for the entire second half, my guess is because they have an all or nothing district game thursday against boone and don't need to lose another player. A little disappointing for us soccer fans to watch a 10 man Scott team play against a Cooper team playing 3 to 4 jv/bench players the entire second half, but it is what it is I guess...
  5. Big win for NCC. Good luck to them the rest of the way. Definite contenders to win the region flying under the radar the past few weeks...
  6. I hate ties. I, like you yellow card, hate to see kids play a tremendous game for 90 minutes then decide it this way. I would rather see two 15 minute golden goal periods than the two 5 minute periods. If it is still tied after 110 minutes, then PK's would be warranted I guess, the kids cannot play all night! Still, I hate seeing games decided on penalties.
  7. This should be a great game, thinking about taking this game in tonight. The winner of this game can make a good run in the All A state. I think NCC is a little stronger this year, I will say 3-1 tonight NCC wins.
  8. Wow! What a game that was last night! Glad I went! Two really good teams played a really good game. Back and forth, both teams had chances, although I think Cooper had a few more, they forced Ryle's GK into some really good saves. Ross went off the post in the extra time, Snow also just missed in extra time. Looked like Kayed was giving Cooper's defense problems, Snow was doing the same to Ryle. The shootout was intense, the stadium got so quiet! Well placed shots by all the players, Williams made a big save on Siemer to win. I tell you what, Logan Williams is by far the best GK I have seen this year. I have not seen everyone play, but he is unbelieveable. Cooper is on a roll, let's see if they can keep this level of play up. I hope they do as I am good friends with some of their coaching staff, especially Coach Wainscott, who has been coaching high school soccer in NKY for probably 20 plus years. Good to see the staff having success with this program so far.
  9. Good read yellow card...good luck to Cooper thursday night, they are really playing well! Undefeated with 5 shutouts??? Looking more and more like they should be regarded as a team to beat in nky!
  10. Lots of good games, some district games in there as well...I will probably attend the ncc/highlands game, but would like to see MoCo play. Decisions, decisions...
  11. Not to toot my own horn, but I belive I correctly called the final score of this game in another thread...
  12. This should be a good matchup. I do not know much about Scott Co this year but they are traditionally a good team. Looks like, from their scores so far, that they will be a good matchup for Cooper. Cooper is hot right now though, I think they will be able to go down there and get a W to keep them undefeated. Hopefully they are refreshed from a busy week and ready to go. I think BB is also in this tournament. Would be nice to see both nky teams win tonight. Good luck to both!
  13. I think the bigger question is will there be more goals than cards??? CC is a team that will not back away from a physical game and we know Scott likes it that way...
  14. Suprised about this score, I thought SK would take this game easily. Walton better than expected I guess???
  15. I am very interested in this game. Both teams like to possess and start their attack out of the back. CCH probably has the best midfield in nky, maybe even the state. If they can control possession and get NCC chasing, that could be a problem. I think NCC is a more physical team and they will try and use that to their advantage. Ultimately I think CCH is the better team and will win. NCC wants to spread the field to stretch the defense but they like to play down the center where CCH is very strong. I also think right now NCC is having a problem finishing, that could be the difference. I will say CCH 3 NCC 1.
  16. Hello all, I am new to the forum, being a lifelong NKY resident and fan of NKY soccer, it is great to see a forum dedicated to NKY soccer teams. I have followed NKY soccer for a long time, I have gotten to know many of the coaches and former/current players and I think this forum is a great way for all of us to be able to talk about, debate about and share info about the current teams and players! As far as this thread goes, I know that the Cooper staff are trying very hard to turn that program into a solid program. With that school being so new, I think it is hard for them to schedule tougher downstate or Cincy competition because no one knows who they are. Good teams want to play other good teams, they are not going to waste their time on teams who they think they will blow out. Cooper needs to show that they are a team that are worthy of playing other teams from downstate and then when their coach calls teams to schedule games, maybe he will get a response. As far as sleeper teams, I think HC was a product of an easy early schedule. I think Dixie are solid, Cooper for sure are a sleeper team. Not too many sleepers, most are either established teams or teams who have a lot of holes. I do think Highlands was not expected to do as well as they are doing since they lost a lot of seniors last season, but they still have a really good program.
