flops&hacks Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 So every year the coaches vote on all region teams and coach of the year If you had one vote, who gets it and why?
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Just up to this point, right? In that case......and I'm sure I will catch it for this one...... CCH's Robertson........big shock...right? Hear me out. To play the level of compitition CCH has played , AND have 6 of 11 starters out for (in some cases) weeks with injuries, and to still put up the numbers using different players, call ups, different formations, recognizing and moving players into different positions..... all the while, keeping discipline as #1 .......surely has to be considered. I know some will argue that he may have had the most talent...top to bottom, if not on an individual basis.......to start with, but take any team and pull 6 starters off, then play a few of the top Ohio teams and a couple of the top NKY teams and see how they do. I am sure he would trade even be considered for a Regional/State title........
flops&hacks Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Jeremy is for sure a great coach, no doubt about it He is definitely in my list I've narrowed down to 3 Quick question, how many starters did he graduate from last year? This may help me
bothways Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 My vote is for Pendleton Co coach. We all know what kind of coaching was there last year and the attitude that the team had. This new coach has taken that team and made them a fairly well balanced team and brought about an sail rounding attitude change.

This may help me If memory serves correctly: 7 seniors (4 consistent starters, 2 significant time, 1 minimal time) Chal, Adkinson Cummings Craig Hardcorn Meyer Wall
unbiasedcoach Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 My vote is for Pendleton Co coach. We all know what kind of coaching was there last year and the attitude that the team had. This new coach has taken that team and made them a fairly well balanced team and brought about an sail rounding attitude change. This is a great choice! He's completely turned that team around in terms of attitude changes, hard work, and a sense of team work. Now results aren't in their favor to say he's completely turned the program around, but give him time and some talent... he'll do good things.
flops&hacks Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Here are a few others to think about , outside of the normals Cooper coach has completely turned that program around Villa coach 15 players in the program and still able to compete at the same level Holmes no Sergio but continues to get better Holy Cross best team they've had since the 90's maybe Or you could go with the big guys Cov Cath #1 preseason and has played very well even when injured Brossart always wins games and challenges for that regional title Boone lost best player getting better every game Don't think there is anyone else on the radar this year Cooper's coach is my vote
flops&hacks Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 If memory serves correctly: 7 seniors (4 consistent starters, 2 significant time, 1 minimal time) Chal, Adkinson Cummings Craig Hardcorn Meyer Wall So they really only lost Chal and Craig, so they return 9 guys that had a significant role in last year's semi final run, plus a few guys that came off the bench. I'm not saying he's not deserving but hasn't done anything unexpected of him. It sucks to never get love because you are always expected to win. Jeremy is a great coach but in that role they expect state titles
unbiasedcoach Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) I'll help speed this thread along. Yellow Card - Cooper's Flesch, OldBird - Highlands' Matthew, and oldgrappler - Boone's Nathan Edited October 2, 2014 by True blue (and gold)
dww2873 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Lots of good options this year. Robertson is an obvious choice. McDonald at NCC is always a solid option, his team is consistently among the top programs. Browning is doing a great job at Boone, they are peaking at the right time. Flesch at Cooper is a newer coach doing a great job there, turned the program around in a few years. Goller at Brossart is a solid coach with traditionally a good team, this year is no different. There are others who probably are due some recognition as well. Tough choice but i like Flesch. They were like 8-14 last year and 13-1 this year, that is a great turnaround and they are young so they should be around for a few years.
Sir! Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 My vote is for Pendleton Co coach. We all know what kind of coaching was there last year and the attitude that the team had. This new coach has taken that team and made them a fairly well balanced team and brought about an sail rounding attitude change. Agree 100% with all the positive for Pendleton County's Aaron Harper. Results haven't followed yet, but with no seniors on the team, next year should be all upside.
oldgrappler Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Thanks for mentioning Boone coach, flops&hacks and futsal. I really can't give a good answer to this question because I don't know the other teams in NKY that well. I don't know if the coaching decisions made by Browning at Boone this year will result in wins in the post season tournaments, but I think the decisions he made will have a lasting impact on some of the players in character development.
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I agree.......but some will argue (not necessarily me) that it should have been taught from the beginning instead of after the incident.......
flops&hacks Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Coach Browning does a great job at Boone. He deserved it last year and should be in the running this year. The shame of it is that we don't count, we don't know if the association votes based on friendship/former colleagues, if they get a list or are just told to write in a vote.
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Being a numbers guy, I was also wondering how they pick it. Is it just a coaches voting race or doe they look at stats, etc....
