Bryan Station will have one returning starter and a lot of juniors to be with little to no varsity experience. Remember the name Keaton Simpson. They also have a transfer that's already enrolled and attending. Henry Clay will be young. Justin Mitchell will likely carry the load for the Blue Devils. Tates Creek should be better next season. Dunbar loses a lot but don't sleep. Tre Homer and Jared Gadd should provide some production for the Bulldogs along with Hollingsworth and Dontell Brown returning. I think we'll see a rematch of this season's 11th region finals.

Eric Powell, Chris Wharton and Evan Dreux have the potential to be a dangerous trio next season if they put in the work during the offseason.

Agree! He came up with a big a steal towards the end and his only 2 points were big for his team.

Yep! Dunbar was down 8 in this game at one point. Their defense and big time plays in the 4th quarter is what won this game for Dunbar. Lafayette had them on the ropes but went to the stall tactic early and a couple of personnel changes at crucial moments possibly hurt the Generals. They were clicking and playing with confidence but was slowed down by their own coach. The Wharton kid for Lafayette has a bright future. His little brother William is going to good too!

Honestly there's no need to place too much emphasis on rankings. It is what it is! Let's take a trip back to the 2000-2001 season. Eventual state champions Lafayette finished the regular season with a record of 16-11. They went on to win the 43rd district title game by defeating a Bryan Station team that was 13-7. A week later they defeat 21-7 Lexington Catholic. Now let's head to Rupp where they defeated some pretty good teams in Carlisle County(18-5), Fairdale(20-7), Male(25-2) and North Hardin(23-3). I said that to say this. At the end of it all, rankings or records don't really matter. It's all about the team that comes together at the right time for one common goal. Because honestly, no one besides Lafayette themselves believed they would win the state title. All records posted are end of regular season records per Riherds Scoreboard.
